Trigger was the last to speak, but I could feel his anger towards me.Time to win this shit.I thought that was all he would say before he continued. And don’t for a second think you’re not in trouble, my Dreamgirl. You don’t get to sacrifice yourself. Ever. I’m going to tie you up and duct tape a vibrator to your clit until you break. Then, I’ll rebuild you to never do that again.

As much as I agree with you, brother, let’s worry about the fight first. Make your way to us. We’re going after Lucifertogether,Kain demanded, giving me chills. I liked it better when he was in charge.

I pulled one more time on my friends’ energy, then dropped the connection. I winced at the scene in front of me. All of them were in some type of lust filled rut. Their mind wouldn’t function again until they had their fill. Thankfully with clothes on, but that wouldn’t last long, and I didn’t need to see that.

The people who had been chosen to drag them away appeared behind their dry humping forms. They guided them away from the fighting, so they could have some privacy. Marnie took notice and pounced on one of the men, but he didn’t mind, going with her lead and smashing his lips onto hers. I was just glad they’d be gone before things got too far along because ew.

By the time I glanced back at the battle still going on, my mates were surrounding me. The Fae had brought the fight and were giving Lucifer’s demon’s a run for their money. I smiled and grabbed the hand of the two men closest to me. Kain and Trigger, the rush and high of a great fucking feed made me feel like I was floating. I was still completely in control, though.

The shadows opened up with a blast of fire from Lucifer. I had no sense of time while feeding, but it couldn’t have been too long. I looked up just in time to see Lucifer cast a light spell, sending Kain’s shadow beasts away.

He roared his victory. Those now blazing red eyes snapped in our direction. My mates had their daggers out, so I called mine as well. The full set would energize us and strengthen our attacks.

“I told you to never use those fucking shadows on me!” His disheveled hair blew in the wind making his face darker than what seemed natural. “Now, I'm going to pull them from your flesh one by one until there are no shadows left inside of you!”

Yeah, over my dead body, and now that I had all of my mates back, I didn’t plan on dying tonight.

Let's do this together. Kain and I will attack from the front. Trigger and Alaric you did well fighting together, so you will be our surprise attack. Keep others away from us. When he least expects it, that's when you show up to be the last hit of the hammer. Dex and Bones you get him from either side. Don’t let his arm swing too far back because that's when he uses powerful hits of magic. You guys good with that?

Definitely,Dex agreed. The hum of power he siphoned from me gave him a type of high that was close to mine.

Let's watch him bleed. Wolf boy and I are craving for a taste,Trigger said while he flipped around one of his daggers, practically drooling with the thought.

I have your back, Poison.Kain squeezed my hand. I could feel his excitement and determination through the bond. The power that rippled off of him served us well as his shadows helped the Fae tackle this massive army. Kain had an army now too.

The others didn’t say anything, but I felt their confirmation through the bond. This way felt right. I gave them some sort of direction, but they would still have to work together and choose an attack.

Without saying another word, we took off in a run, charging Lucifer. His eyes widened in surprise, but the malicious grin of satisfaction was still there. He didn’t think that we could win this, but my hope had returned. He was going down. Even if I had to go with him.

CHAPTER FORTY

Kain and I stayed close. We were what he needed to be focused on. To him, we were the bigger threat because of our power levels.

“Ready to die in a puddle of your blood,Dad?” Kain sneered out. His voice dripped with all his emotions. Loathing, revulsion, and indignation tainted every word. It even made the hairs on the back of my neck stand to attention.

Kain looked and even felt the same. Our power level always shined through, even through magical blockages, but the air around him crackled now. It was a lethal whip that made any sane person want to run away. If our opponent wasn’t the first fucking first fallen angel and demon, the effects would have worked. However, Lucifer just seemed to bulk up and increase his own power as if he hid a pouch full of spare energy in his ass.

Get him to zone in on you, Kain. I’ll strike first. Then, we both strike and never stop,I whispered as if our enemies could hear us.

I leave for a couple days, and everything goes to Hell, and my mate gets extra bossy.I could feel the wink in his words. Kain wasn’t much of a jokester, but his cool composure drifted tome, causing my mind to settle on reflex. It couldn’t be that bad if people were joking around, my brain said.

Black shadows that looked like smoke oozed from his palm and eyes. It was trippy to watch, but I didn’t let myself get distracted. I swung first while Lucifer was taken off guard by the shadows.

Connecting with his jaw hurt like fuck, but the contorting of his face, the hint of pain he gave me, made the throbbing in my knuckles worth it. Kain moved in the moment I moved back. We worked like a well-oiled machine. Even Smokey came to my side to bite Lucifer’s ankle.

“Smokey, go protect my parents. Now!” I commanded. My tone was harsh. I could sound just as lethal when protecting people, I loved. My parents weren’t dying today. I had finally found them.

My uncle would get the job done, but Smokey would be a good extra defense. I couldn’t focus on them, but my parents could barely stand. They couldn’t defend themselves. He whined in protest.

When he sat at my feet, I stared down into his concerned red eyes. The beast truly was the best pet a girl could ask for. “Please. Don’t let anyone near them. It’ll help me be less distracted.”

Bones and Dex stopped Lucifer from throwing his arm back with black staffs. They glowed in their hands which made one heck of a light show as they twirled them around. They hid a few places for weapons, but the surprise effect meant we were limited. The staffs probably came from the Fae. Bones moved with ease with the weapon, so it’d make sense. Even Dex’s slight elf side would help him use a weapon from a different realm.

The moment Smokey disappeared, and loud screams came from the stage area, I knew I had made the right decision. I threw my all into the fight. A weight had lifted off my mind

Time seemed to slow down and speed up all at once. Each punch that landed was powered with wind magic to hurt worse. Blood trickled from Lucifer’s busted lip, showing me how injured he still was from the rushed healing.

As much as I wished this would be an easy kill, the fucker had skills. His internal wounds did not slow him down much. It still gave me a sense of pride to know I had done that.
