“Now, the movie and whatever weird fight you guys just went through is over, let’s put on a better scary movie,” Lilah said as she absently braided Brandon’s hair. Her mind was on other things, but he didn’t mind.
“Which one? Michael Myers is the best. He was definitely a demon.” Dex sat forward to glance her way, ignoring Trigger’s hair, even as he shook it to get his attention.
“Umm, don’t get me wrong the big MM is awesome, but I’m talking about someone that could be anyone. A human could put on the mask and be just as scary.” She had starry eyes, and I completely agreed.
I knew exactly what movie. I loved a good thriller.
“Okay, I’ll bite.” Dex grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around my shoulders.
“Scream, duh.”
I snorted because she had only seen the first two about a month before we were dragged to the academy. Her mother would have killed her if she watched anything but her brain-washing crap. Brandon crawled over to the DVD player as soon as she said the name. Hell didn’t have cable and game systems didn’t work well here, but at least movies did.
Dex rolled his eyes, but it was Alaric who answered. “I don’t know if it’s better than MM, but it’s a good franchise. Besides, Ivy likes them.”
I pinched his leg. “How do you know? We haven’t watched the new scary movies haul you brought us.” Even though he didn’t work for the Headmaster anymore, he still had access to things. He got stuff the shopping center didn’t. Like coffee! I’d had three cups today.
“The way your eyes lit up at the bundle. Every Scream movie at your fingertips and you creamed your panties.”
The men chuckled while Lilah put her fingers in her ears and startedla-la-lainguntil the movie started. Brandon scurried back to his spot, putting her short legs on his shoulders so he could hug them.
“I’ve never seen any of them, so I’m game,” Trigger whispered.
My eyes widened. I forget that most of my men had been trapped in Hell their whole lives. When we got out of here, we were traveling. They could go to an actual movie theater. Zar and my Light Soul friend, Marnie, loved movies, so I went a few times a month. The theater they had at the slave lounge wasn’t the same. I wished they could be here tonight as well.
As the beginning girl died, and the men argued about what they would do different or how stupid she was for not throwing the phone at her parents, I made a promise to Goddess Nyx that my mates and I were going to have more time for life. We couldn’t get caught up in protecting or fighting because that was never going to change. Even if we defeated Lucifer, there would always be powerful demons to deal with. We needed to enjoy the small things.
By the timewe watched the first three Scream movies and had dinner and 20 million-bathroom breaks—those three coffees were a bad idea—I was ready to grab a book and lie in bed. Even if I wasn’t tired thanks to the liquid gold.
The guys let me go to bed while they cleaned up. They understood me in an almost frightening way. I could never relax with the dishes in the sink and mess everywhere. It didn’t have to be perfect, but the place needed to be what I liked to call ‘comfortable clean.’ Basically, if I couldn’t see it, the mess wouldn’t bother me. Trigger had a habit of shoving stuff in the hallway closet, but I never went in there, so I didn’t care.
I grabbed a random book on the shelf in… my old room? I still had no idea if this was still my room or the library. The bed hadn’t moved, which meant it was my destination.
The book cover was green with a dark-haired woman looking down, so the reader couldn’t see her face. Blood dripping from her lips and the Pixies whispering in her ear had me intrigued. “The Blood Widow. I wonder if you’re one of his true stories written by a seer?” I spoke out loud.
The room was at least triple the size of the living room. I opened the book to read before I made it to the bed. I was hooked instantly. Nothing else registered to me.
The walls literally moved sometimes because a soul was checking in, but I couldn’t be bothered. Even when the bed dipped.
The voices were slightly annoying, but I ignored them easily.
The large hands ripping open my panties and the face diving into my pussy weren’t something I could ignore, though. A gasping, moaning sound escaped me as their tongue circled my clit. Thrusting upward, I put the book down. My eyes focused on the room.
All my men were around me like hungry vultures, naked. Trigger was the closest to the book. He growled at the bundle of paper like it was an enemy. He grabbed it and tossed it across the room.
“Hey!” I shouted even as Kain clicked his tongue on my clit and slid a finger inside me. The moan made my protest sound pathetic. I couldn’t even get mad. My brain could only access my pleasure right now.
Alaric blurred after the book before the landing could damage the binding. I vaguely registered him being successful, but Kain was moving even quicker now. It was all happening so fast.
“Don’t throw my shit. Most of these books are people’s lives. Have some respect,” Alaric growled out.
Trigger growled right back. “She liked the book more than us. I’ll burn the little shit.”
My eyes were closed, so I had no idea what they were doing, but the fact they were naked made everything sexy.
Griping. Jealousy. Anger. All done with their beautiful cocks swinging around. Their muscles moved as they fought.
“Calm the fuck down. She doesn’t like it more than us, she was just distracted. She put it down, didn’t she?” Bones shoved Trigger to get past him. He scooted behind me and put my legs over his, so I’d be spread even wider.
