More gasps and several students backed away.
Me, I forced myself to not move. How dare that fucking weasel challenge my mate?! I was going to have my shadows devour every part of him slowly.
You will do no such thing. This is my challenge.Ivy’s voice sounded different in my head. The harsh tones were prominent there.
She would accept his fucking challenge, but I had to stop her before she said the words. I couldn’t bare it if I lost her. My demon thrashed around inside of me, demanding I protect her.
“Please don’t,” Bones whispered, agreeing with me, but we didn’t move. There were too many people around. These assholes needed to go somewhere.
He has caused enough problems. People will never get in line if a top five doesn’t follow the rules. He killed seven people this week in the worst ways. Whoever is giving him the new curses and aide is too strong. Most likely Lucifer. Regardless it's time to end it. Demons fight in blood, so all of you stay out of this, or I'll consider it another challenge.
All hermates jerked at her last words. Did she just say, she'd kill us? This wasn’t Ivy. We needed to stop her from changing completely. I just hoped it wasn’t too late.
CHAPTER TEN
The scent of anticipation in the air was as sharp as freshly squeezed lemonade, making my eyes burn. The pain from my summoning, coupled with the ongoing healing of my body, already threatened to make me tear up. But I refused to cry in front of everyone. Whoever invented demon summoning was a real piece of work. It felt like my body had been ripped apart and then slowly reassembled.
One moment, my blood was racing with the thrill of finally getting answers that could be used against Lucifer—I wasn’t sure how yet but knowing his whereabouts and what he couldn’t live without was a start. The next, I stood before a crowd of nosy demons. I’d need to schedule a meeting with my faction heads to brainstorm. That was a concern for later. Right now, I had more pressing matters.
My demon was doing the macarena dance inside of me. Both my Fae and demon side were in agreement that Nar had to go, and this was the perfect excuse. He was too powerful to be my enemy. Now, I could eradicate the problem in a way no one could question. Saving the lives of his future victims was a huge plus. That was why I couldn’t waste this opportunity. Stanine might suck for making me tie myself to Tila but getting rid of Narwas worth it. He was the leader of every group against me. I bet he was how the Nati Demons kept getting in the academy.
My smirk widened as I met Nar’s red gaze. His sharp features could be handsome if his face wasn’t always tainted in evil. I knew the little vampire would seize his opportunity. So, bring it on, let’s finally end this.
The magic that had frozen everyone when I was summoned lifted. Slowly bodies moved against the walls. The building took this time to get some revenge apparently because a few people cried out when it smacked the shit out of them.
Things were going to get bloody. Just what I wanted.
Each of my mates was screaming through the bond, giving me a headache. It was annoying. They were dicks in private and now in my head too.
Don’t you dare fight him. This shit better stop. Nar is sick in the head.Kain growled out first. He always said the wrong thing. Even if I had any doubts, now, I definitely was doing it.
What are you doing? Nar could drain you dry.Alaric’s confidence in me was sorely lacking.
Yay, kill him.Trigger cheered me on. Yet, his worry seeped through.
You really need a spanking.Dex almost made me smile. He really was trying to change to be supportive, but he was just as nervous as the rest. I couldn’t get mad over that because I would be as well.
Why do you insist on giving me gray hair?Bones sent me his hope and confidence through the bond, hoping to strengthen me.
Thankfully, they were smart enough not to complain out loud. If they questioned me, others would either get angry or disrespect my status. That was the last thing we needed.
“I accept,” as soon as the words left my lips, Nar attacked.
Time slowed as his claws slashed at my face. His expression twisted with rage, and the hint of satisfaction coming off him made me roll my eyes. He thought he’d caught me off guard, but the fucker was predictable. No fear crept into me. Adrenaline dilated my pupils, sharpening my vision.
Did he think the number one ranked demon would be taken down so easily? He might have an amulet that kept my demon from enthralling him, but that was all it did. I was powerful way before my demon took over.
I dodged and ducked away from his rapid-fire attacks. His goal was to get me hard and fast. If he had surprised me, that might have worked. Just like I taught Lilah, surprise usually did the trick.
The soul weapon inside of me heated and demanded to come out. The circular mark on my hand glowed as the blade materialized in my grasp.
The one with the pink jewel on the tip that was a set with all my mates. As expected, each of the jewels lit up, sending me their strength. Pink, green, gold, red, blue, and black shined bright on every wall.
Kill, kill, kill, the blade whispered in my mind. I grinned wider and swung the weapon in an arc. The air shimmered with blood as I slashed at his chest.More.
The touch of the artifact’s magic on Nar’s skin stung as I tested its barriers. The burning pain just fueled my movements.
His body pounced on mine, making the both of us tumble to the floor. Our breaths mingled. His smelled like pennies. It made me want to gag. I held in the sensation and smooshed his face into the ground. His fangs snapped at me. His hisses sounded like a deflating air mattress.
