“Puts some pants on,” I demanded.
He shrugged with a smirk on his face. “All my clothes have cum on them.”
I rolled my eyes and pulled out the trapped soul from my bag. Before I could say anything, Ark came in with a thin scratchy looking blanket. He had been the one Lust was fucking. “Sorry. Here you go,” he whispered.
He handed me the blanket, telling my demon that I was his leader, not the other powerful demons in the room. I smirked and gave him chin lift in Lust’s direction. He got the hit and gave it to Lust. “Why thank you, Delicious. I hope to see you again.”
Ark met my gaze before answering. I shrugged because I didn’t care either way. They both had to feed.
Ark blushed and nodded. “Definitely.”
When he turned away, his eyes landed on the glass tube in my hand that was filled with the soul. I opened the bond for him when he knocked.Good, you got the anima aucupis.
My Latin knowledge always came in handy. So, this device was literally called soul trapper. Demons really weren’t clever while naming things.
He continued. Did Molly or Zar tell you how to use it? I looked it up, and it’s pretty easy. You have maybe ten questions before the juice runs out. You’ll feel it.
I gave him a nod in understanding.Thank you. I owe you for getting me what I needed.I really did appreciate his help. Most of my to do list was finish, and the other stuff didn’t matter as much.
No need. Even if we haven’t spent much time together, your faction sensed that I was one of them. It has been nice feeling like I belong. I’d happily take orders from you forever. He bowed his head. I had been taken off guard by him, so I didn’t say anything. Why did he thank me for something I didn’t do?
I could feel the eye roll coming from Kain. You are his leader. The person who is creating the family a faction should be. As much as I don’t like him, he has honor and you have his loyalty just for breathing, Queen.
Again, I didn’t know what to say. Ark left and Kain didn’t say anything else, so I focused back on Lust. “I got you a meal,” I taunted. He was probably ravenous by now.
He perked up and those amused eyes hardened, and the vicious predator shined through. There he was, I wondered when I’d see him. Lust acted too friendly for me.
“Give me.” He didn’t even sound like the same man. His voice dropped a couple octaves.
“Not yet. I have questions.” He nodded for me to continue. “Has anything you’ve told me been a lie?” This would include him helping me get my parents out.
“No.”
The glass in my hands flashed red. Lie. Dread turned my insides as my eyes snapped to his. Had it all been a lie? He leaned forward with his hands up in front of him.
“Care to try again.” I demanded, the threat hardened my voice.
“Fine. It was just a little white lie. Killing the Sins won’t weaken Lucifer completely. Three will still be alive, so we’ll have to be far away from the battle for us not to accidentally help him.”
Kain and Trigger snorted. “Figures, you want to run and hide. Lust never wants to help go against Lucifer.”
I quirked an eyebrow up at him. It would have been nice having them fight with us. Especially Wrath, but I didn’t want them near if it helped Lucifer.
“Any other lie? White or not.”
“Nope. Everything I’ve said was the truth.” When there was no flash of red, I sighed in relief.
“Who are the others that you want to live?” Kain asked. My demon got a little irritated at him taking over, but I pushed her down. That’s a question we need to know.
Lust sighed. “Fine. Since I gave a white lie, I’ll give you that. Wrath and Sloth are the ones you can’t kill.” The glass didn’t light up red for either of his answers. Good.
I asked a question before Kain could. “Here’s two more. If we let you go, will you be our intel on Lucifer? With no lies and to not hold information back.” I hoped I worded that correctly.
He smiled. “Good. A demon’s word is his law.” He winked at me. “Yes. I will only hold back if it endangers the three of the Sins not dying.”
Fair enough.
He waited expectantly for me to ask the second question. “Will killing the other sins effect the demon who are connected to the Sin?”
