As I ride by Ramy, Ashok, and Eray, I hope Edoo didn’t got himself in some deep shit. Or maybe I hope he did and that we’ll be thrown into an epic wild battle that will let me bathe in the blood of my enemies.

My brothers don’t understand my nature. I sense danger, but I don’t know exactly what type. It could be anything from a rival clan to sand pirates to a pit of sand pythons to Rash. I fucking hate Rash. They’re my least favorite enemy. Sad creatures, empty of heart and brain, all they want is to feed on the warm flesh of the living. They’re vermin.

As Balo built up speed and ran toward the small cloud of sand that appeared on the horizon, I jumped from the saddle and rolled in the sand. Balo’s running creates a small cloud of dust that will attract the attention of whatever it is that my ancestral brain registers as dangerous. Half crawling and half running, I used my speed to my advantage and snuck up closer to see what was going on. I wasn’t prepared for the scene in front of me.

A pack of slavers, who called themselves pirates of the desert, attacked a creature. Desert pirates are creatures with tentacles that can sleep under the sand for days. They have disgusting, flat faces. However, the creature they attacked was unlike anything I had ever seen before. Its hair waved wildly with each of its moves. The hair looked long and silky and colored so black it shone blue under the light of the three sons of Ra. The creature’s face was flat and pink, and its eyes were in the front, not on the side like an Anubis or Bastet. It was so weird and awkward in appearance, yet I couldn’t take my eyes off it.

The pirates of the desert taunted the creature. It tried to defend herself, kicking and yelling with a soft voice in a language I did not recognize. As it fought, I noticed its body was different as well. Anubis males and females have flat, muscular chests. This one’s chest looked as if it had two large pepene fruits attached, only they looked soft and squishy.

This was none of my business. I should return, warn my brothers that the danger doesn’t concern us, and leave. But I couldn’t.

The creature’s eyes caught mine. They looked blue like the sky. My chest felt tight. If the slavers catch it, they’ll sell it to the Agra Games, and I don’t think this small creature with the pink, soft-looking skin could survive those or stay alive for one day.

Something urged me to protect it.

To want to put myself between it and danger.

One of the slavers shot its tentacle toward the creature, wrapping the appendage around the creature’s waist. It tried to push it away, even clawed at it, but to no avail.

Its eyes locked onto mine again. I was too far away. It was impossible for it to see me at this distance… or could it? Did this creature have a way to see over a long distance?

The wind changed and pushed her scent to my nose. My mouth watered. I knew I wanted the creature. It was female, whatever it was. My cock pumped hot blood, clouding my reason.

Another slaver prodded her with a stick and I attacked. It was not a conscious decision. Anger and lust melted together in a war cry. I charged the pirates as fast as I could. Speed was on my side. I charged the first from behind. My teeth ripped open its throat. Blue, sticky blood coated my chest. I released a feral battle cry that attracted my brothers.

I knew Ashok and Eray would arrive soon, and Ramy would help if needed. Desert pirates are not worthy opponents, but there were five of them against me.

One shot a tentacle around my waist, trying to lift me off the ground. Instead of fighting, I threw myself ahead and sliced the tentacle with my claws. I ended up in the jackal fighting stance, down on all four, and looking at the long-haired creature that didn’t seem scared of me.

She freed herself from the tentacle by kicking the pirate. Two more wrapped her legs and arms with their disgusting tentacles and were about to pull her underground. There was something, something special about her scent that made my cock ragging hard just from watching her. Her breasts bounced with each move. I wanted to touch them. Instead of watching my back, I looked at her. She showed me her teeth, with a twinkle in her eyes. Those lips looked so delicate and beautiful. I felt a steering in my loins and I deep need to take her.

A tentacle wrapped itself around my chest and neck and squeezed, making breathing difficult. I’m such an idiot!

Eray’s battle cry filled the air. Thank the Gods, my brothers were here. I was so fucked, and not in a good way.

The sand pirates pulled on the beautiful creature, trying to drag her beneath the sand. Every bit of my soul was against it.

“Mine!” was the roar that left my mouth as my teeth sank into one of tentacles wrapped around my maw. The pirate screeched and blue blood spilled across the sands.

Eray and Ashok fought like one, their bodies moving like a mirror image in battle. They’re twins and have a special connection. I’m more like Edoo. I like my own company, but at the same time I feel tethered to my brothers. We all have moments when we need to be alone, Edoo more than us. His father was important, ours was not. Our mother still holds a veneration for Edoo’s father as the one and only Anubis who united the tribes under the three sons of Ra.

The pirate that clasped the female pulled her under the soft sands. I was still trapped.

“Ashok, Eray, get her!”

Something in me broke, I couldn’t accept that this monster would take the sweet little female that smelled like the deep water of an oasis. She did her best to fight off the tentacles, but her small upper paws looked frail and unable to do any damage against the sand-colored tentacles that so thick even my teeth could barely penetrate them. Still, I had to admire her spirit.

She was feisty!

She kept screaming and using her small body to push, press, and claw. Her legs were immobile when Eray slashed his curved sword through the tentacle. The pirate that owned the detached appendage released her and disappeared under the surface of the sand. Eray smiled.

Ramy sat on the sidelines and watched.

“Hassym, what are you doing here? And what’s that?” he called out when the pirates that didn’t lay dead on the sand offering their life juices to the desert were running and slipping between the corns of sand.

“She’s mine!” I yelled to my alpha brother. His reaction was to laugh and slap his knees.

“Okay, but what is it? And you must share with your brothers because they helped.”
