“You’re a bad, bad girl. You’re insatiable. I love it.”
“Caspian?”
“Yes?”
“Why does this work better everything else between us doesn’t?”
“Oh, darling. We just met. I think we can make things work as long as you know that you are mine, and mine only.”
I moved my hand playfully on his chest. I was trying to find a way to explain to him that I was involved with three other men and that my desires stretched toward more exotic things than just one-on-one action, even though Caspian was a gorgeous man. I looked forward to experimenting and playing with him.
My phone started to ring as I was about to breach the subject.
“Hi, Lilith. What’s up?”
“I have news, or at least I have an idea. I didn’t know Preach was your Soul Mirror. That’s exceptional. If Luce…” she always called dad Luce, “…erased the memory from your mother, they’re still in Preach’s mind and soul. I think I can get them to the surface, but I need you here.”
“We’ll be there in fifteen minutes. I’m so excited.”

Silver
Lilith’s modern living room was ready for a séance. I’ve never been interested in witchcraft, but I like the visual of it. The candles, red and black, melted slowly, releasing a sweet fragrance. The flames danced like tiny exotic dancers in all colors of the spectrum.
Lilith wore a rather gloomy attire. A few ritual necklaces hung around her neck, all silver with gemstones set in them.
Preach lay on the floor.
“Lilith, what the fuck are you doing?”
“Good. You’re here. Lie down.” Lilith gestured toward the floor, which was covered with a thick, elegant rug.
“Do you want to kill me and send me home?”
“Don’t be silly, child. I won’t send you to Luce. I need you and Preach to connect emotionally and physically so I can access his memory.”
“I can’t touch him.”
“Oh, damn. I forgot. But you can touch Caspian. Cas, how about you get in the middle. Hold Silver’s hand and Preach’s.”
“Where are the guys?”
Jacks and the others appeared from the kitchen. Jacks walked over to me and took my hand. “Are you okay, Silver?”
“Yes. I’m excited about the possibility of finding out more.”
“We’ll get the memory from Preach. I talked him through it.” Lilith looked as giddy as a little girl. She loved playing with magic.
Caspian took my hand, holding it tight. I saw Jacks eyes.
“Let’s get to it.” Lilith clapped. She was anxious to start, like an excited child.
I laid down. The rug was comfortable and Caspian’s grip was strong, warm, and immensely reassuring. It was dark, and not only because I closed my eyes. I tried to open my eyes, but darkness pulled me down, deep into a pleasant warmth. My heart started to beat faster. A familiar perfume rose into my nose. No, it wasn’t my nose. It was in the back of my brain, in that sweet spot where my memories were hidden. It smelled wonderful, like the sea.
I was hopeful but not exactly sure what I expected. Preach talked about a beautiful woman with golden hair. All I sensed was emptiness, fear, and an ice-cold hand gripping my heart. I felt as I couldn’t breathe.
Then I heard a scream. Preach appeared. He looked as handsome as ever with his pale skin, blue eyes, and full lips. His blue-black hair flew around him like a halo. A golden aura was all around him.
