But the thought of rehashing everything, uncovering that wound, and letting him see just how much Antony affected me, having him know how it felt to see him every time…

It burned more than having to endure Maddox constantly hounding me about it.

“Then I guess I’ll just have to endure it.”

My words took a second to register, but once they did, Maddox’s expression darkened further.

“Once I find out, I’m going to kill that bastard.”

“You willnot.”

“Guys! Guest incoming!” came Adam’s voice from down the stairs.

But it was a little late.

Antony was already at the door.

Chapter 12

Antony

I didn’t consider myself to be a hateful person. I didn’t really hold grudges, I never got into trouble with anyone, but that might have been because most people didn’t care about me enough to either love me or hate me, so I sailed through the pleasant middle ground of mediocre neutrality.

Maddox, though?

There was something about him that just made me want to punch him in the face.

Especially because he was, once again, inside Henry’s bedroom.

And although I hadn’t been able to tell what exactly they’d been talking about, I’d definitely caught my name from Maddox’s lovely venomous tongue. Not to mention that he currently had one of Henry’s boxers in hand.

“Am I interrupting something?” I asked tersely.

Maddox’s sneer was telling. “You are.”

“You aren’t.” Henry gave the Hellhound a look, snatching his boxers from Maddox’s fingers. “He was just leaving.”

I didn’t think the latter was too happy about it, but then again, he never looked too happy when he was in my presence.

Walking closer to me, and thus to the door, the Hellhound leaned in, invading my personal space, but I didn’t budge.

I wasn’t intimidated by this dick.

Henry’sbest friend.

“One day, Andino, you and I are going to have a long, sweet conversation, and I’m going to trifle through your entrails until I know every last one of your secrets.”

“Nice. Sounds like a fun time.”

Narrowing his eyes, he said, “You’re not nearly as funny as you think you are, bookworm.”

“You break my heart. Here I thought we had something good going on.”

“Guys.”

We both looked at Henry.

“Knock it off. Now.”
