Grabbing onto my own jaw, he planted a strong, heartfelt kiss on my lips. “I love you.”

God, the roughness in his voice would have made my knees weak had I been standing up.

“I love you more,” I told him.

He smirked and put his forehead against mine. “Impossible.”

“I can prove it to you.”

“How?”

A grin full of mischief stretched my lips. “I have a very loving mouth.”

Henry chuckled and threw me off his lap, saying he needed to get changed or he’d be late, but in the end, we got alittlecarried away once we got to his bedroom.

A little extra courage would do him good.

With a kiss on my lips and the taste of his love in my mouth, I let him leave, wishing him luck but knowing he would ace it. Maddox came to the door soon after, which was more thanten minutessince he’d said it, but apparently Adam had had to take a call and he’d been gracious enough to wait for him.

Something he never did foranyone.

I eyed him closely as they both came to the door. Adam said goodbye to me with a very happy smile and nearly skipped his way out of the frat house.

That only left the Hellhound and me.

“Don’t look at me that way,” he said.

“I’m not looking at you any sort of way.”

He glared. “I know what you’re thinking, but it’s nothing special. I realized I was too early so I decided to wait.”

I gave him a knowing look. He was making it worse by trying to justify himself.

In an unexpected curveball move, though, he said, “Do you want a compliment?”

After a slow blink, I managed to say, “I guess.”

“I’m happy that you’re with Henry. He’s the happiest he’s ever been. And while you’ll never find me making you a friendship bracelet, I don’t really hate the sight of you.”

It was such an unexpected and heartfelt confession that it took me a second to react. A bubbling laugh came out of me, and I even thought I caught a glint in Maddox’s icy blue eyes.

“You’re not so bad yourself. I might call you if I ever need someone to unclog my toilet.”

With an eye-roll that meantAntony is so funny and I love him, he walked out of the house and followed Adam, the guy he obviously abhorred.

Yeah, life wasn’t always easy with the Heartbreaker and his Hellhound, but I thought that I might just be able to get used to it.

Henry and I were solid. We were in love.

And for the first time ever, I knew for certain we were meant to last.

The End
