Meg leaned over the edge of the pool, calling out to her. “Hey, Lennox, guess who just got put in her place?”

Lennox’s eyes lit up with curiosity. “What happened?”

I exchanged a look with Meg, grinning. “Let’s just say she won’t be talking shit about you anymore.”

Lennox laughed, shaking her head. “I knew you guys had my back.”

“Always,” Alice said, her tone filled with affection.

Meg smiled wide. “Girl Gang for life.”

Chapter Thirteen

Still got it…

Alice

The campfire crackled in the background, laughter and the sweet scent of toasted marshmallows filling the air. But my attention was on the man in front of me, the man who had unexpectedly shown up at our girls’ trip.

I leaned up on my tiptoes, wrapping my arms around Wrecker’s neck as I pressed a quick kiss to his lips. “If any of the girls ask, I am so mad that you guys crashed our trip,” I whispered, brushing my nose against his. “But actually, I’m so happy you’re here.”

His strong arms tightened around my waist, pulling me closer. “Your secret is safe with me, babe,” he murmured, a playful glint in his eyes.

I bit my bottom lip, the idea forming in my mind as my fingers trailed down his chest. “How about we go for a walk?” I suggested, my voice carrying just the hint of something more.

The campfire glow flickered in Wrecker’s gaze as he looked down at me. “You don’t want a s’more?” he asked, half-teasing.

I shook my head, my hand finding his and intertwining our fingers. “I’m not hungry for that,” I replied, letting my smile convey exactly what I was craving.

Wrecker cocked his head, a knowing smirk playing at the corners of his lips. “Oh? Then what are you hungry for, babe?”

Instead of answering, I turned to the others around the campfire. “We’re going for a walk!” I called out, not really caring who heard. The rest of the girls would understand—or at least they’d pretend to. I could feel Wrecker’s eyes on me as I tugged him away from the group, leading him toward the road that curved around the edge of the campground.

He let me take the lead until we were away from the firelight, the sounds of the camp fading into the distance. Then, with a swift motion, he pulled me into his arms, guiding us toward the lake, the moon casting a silver sheen over the water.

“Maybe I can show you just how much I missed you,” I said coyly, glancing up at him through my lashes.

He growled low in his throat, a sound that sent shivers down my spine. We were close to the lake when we noticed a narrow path leading off into the woods, barely visible in the dim light. Wrecker gave my hand a squeeze, and we veered off the road, following the trail into the trees.

The path opened up into a small clearing right by the water’s edge, the trees forming a natural alcove around us. The air was cool, the ground soft underfoot, and the only sound was the gentle lapping of the lake against the shore.

Wrecker took a slow look around before his gaze landed back on me, a fire in his eyes that had nothing to do with the campfire we had just left behind. “Here,” he growled, the word thick with intent.

Before I could respond, he pulled me to the nearest tree, pressing me up against the rough bark. His hands were everywhere at once, sliding under my shirt, gripping my waist, and tilting my head back so his lips could claim mine in a searing kiss.

The world narrowed down to just the two of us, the cool night air against my skin a sharp contrast to the heat between us. I moaned against his lips as he lifted me slightly, his hips pinning mine to the tree. His kiss was hot and demanding, leaving me breathless as his hands roamed over my body, tracing familiar paths that set my skin alight.

“Wrecker,” I breathed, my voice barely more than a gasp as his mouth moved to my neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin there. I felt him smirk against my throat, one of his hands slidingdown to grip my thigh, pulling my leg up to wrap around his waist.

His touch was rough and urgent, a mirror to the wild pounding of my heart. He pulled back just enough to look into my eyes, his gaze dark and intense. “You have no idea how much I’ve missed you,” he growled before capturing my lips again in another bruising kiss.

I barely had time to register the words before he moved, his free hand pushing my shorts aside with a swift motion, the cool air a sharp contrast to the heat pooling between us. I gasped at the sensation, my fingers digging into his shoulders as I pulled him closer, needing him like I needed air.

Wrecker didn’t waste any time, his fingers finding me with practiced ease, his touch sending jolts of pleasure through my body. I moaned, my hips bucking against him after he dropped his pants, and he pushed inside me, filling me with a delicious heat that spread through every nerve.

It was fast and hot, our bodies moving together in a frantic rhythm, the world fading away until all that was left was the feel of him, the rough bark of the tree against my back, and the intoxicating mix of pleasure and need that threatened to consume me.

I clung to him, my fingers tangled in his hair as he drove into me with an urgency that matched my own, the raw desire between us leaving me breathless. Every thrust sent sparks of pleasure through me, building higher and higher until I was teetering on the edge, my body tightening around him as I came undone.
