Page 135 of Their Wicked Ways

The next time I was fully aware of my surroundings, I was spooning Jett while he snuggled up to Ez’s front. Ez’s warm arm was around my waist, holding both of us close.

“How do you feel?” Ez asked.

I instinctively knew he wasn’t talking to me.

Which was probably a good thing because I was feeling too much to pinpoint any one thing at the moment.

“Good.” He snuggled back against me.

“How about you and Wes get some cuddles in while I get a cloth to clean us up?”

“Okay.” Jett rolled over and right into my arms, tucking his face against my neck with a happy little sigh.

Trying to rein in my emotions, I held him close and gently ran my fingers through his hair, giving him a chance to regulate and slip out of his happy place.

When Ez came back, he helped us clean up, then lay back down on Jett’s other side.

Jett pushed up on his elbows so he could look down at us as we lay on our backs. His expression was strange. Not nervous, exactly, but definitely apprehensive.

“Jett?” I asked.

Had that been too much? Had we pushed him too far?

“I want to be your boyfriend.”

Ez and I froze.

He wanted to be with us? He felt it too?

“I have no idea how a triad works or if I’m setting myself up for a broken heart, but I can’t keep denying that what I feel for you, both of you, is real. It’s the most real thing I’ve ever felt.” He smiled, but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “I think I’m in love with you.” His smile fell. “I know it’s too soon, and I probably just ruined everything?—”

Ez silenced him with a finger to his lips.

“You didn’t ruin anything. You couldn’t.” He dropped his finger. “I love you too.”

A huge, beaming smile slid over his face. “Yeah?” he asked eagerly.

“Yeah.” Ez tugged him down for a quick kiss, then they both fixed their attention on me.

“I’ve loved you for a while now.” I tried to lighten the mood with some humor. “Glad you two finally caught up.”

Jett let out a spluttering laugh that sounded a bit like an elephant trumpeting.

That set Ez and me off, and soon the three of us were laughing like fools and hugging each other.

“I was so scared you didn’t feel it. Or I was seeing things that weren’t there,” Jett said into Ezra’s neck when we’d finally stopped laughing.

“I don’t get it either.” Ez stroked his hair tenderly. “But it’s real. It’s been real for a while.”

Jett turned his face and peeked at me through his lashes.

“It’s real,” I confirmed. “I never thought I could love anyone other than Ez. Never wanted to. Not until you.”

He lifted his head with a sweet smile and kissed me, but the kiss was cut off by his squeak of surprise as Ez lifted him onto his chest.

Understanding what he was doing, I scooted next to him.

Jett looked between us, then shimmied over so he lay on both of us.
