“What? I’m not?—”
“Hartley,” he says, squeezing my upper thighs.
The gesture is as sexy as it is comforting, which makes it a little easier to give him my eyes again.
“I know you didn’t purposely barge in on me, and in case you couldn’t tell, I enjoyed the hell out of that.”
“Thank god, because it’s been a few years for me and I was afraid?—”
This time he cuts me off by bringing his finger to my lips. “Here’s what we’re gonna do. We’re going to get off this bed, take care of the laundry, and get in the shower.”
I swallow. “Together?”
“Together. I’m not done with you yet.”

“Act natural,” I whisper to Hartley as we near our gate.
“I am acting natural.”
“You have a shit-eating grin on your face for no reason.”
Her smile grows impossibly wider. “I assure you it isnotfor no reason.”
Okay, that’s fair, but still. “They’re going to figure us out. If you can’t stop grinning, we at least have to walk farther apart.”
“You’re being ridiculous.”
“I’m being cautious. There’s a difference.”
She rolls her eyes but adds a few feetbetween us.
We finally sacked out around eight this morning and managed to get about four hours of sleep before we had to meet the crew downstairs. As Hartley says, we can always sleep on the plane.
The same can’t be said for anything else we did before the sun rose.
I actually thought I was hallucinating when I first saw her watching me last night. After a grueling day, I was dehydrated, exhausted, and ready to crash for the night.
