Gianna followed suit, her delicate bat form fluttering beside me. We soared over the twinkling lights of restaurants, hotels, and houses, the wind rushing through our fur. Part of me wanted to indulge in this freedom forever, but the weight of my impending mission hung heavy in my chest.
As we approached Goody Academy, my mind racedfaster than my wings. I wanted nothing more than to lose myself in Gianna all night, to map every curve and hollow of her body with my hands and lips. But duty called, and it had an annoying habit of terrible timing.
“Home sweet home,” I announced as we shifted back, landing gracefully on my balcony. “Well, more like apartment adequate apartment, but who’s counting?”
I pulled her close, trying to ignore the gnawing guilt in my stomach. “Now, where were we? Oh right, I believe I promised you a thorough exploration.”
As I led her inside, my mind was already plotting. I’d make love to her until she was exhausted, then slip away for my midnight heist. But I wasn’t going solo on this little adventure. My favorite dishwasher was about to become the Robin to my Batman.
I chuckled to myself. “Who says kitchen appliances can’t be sidekicks?”
Gianna raised an eyebrow. “What was that?”
“Oh, nothing,” I smirked, pulling her toward the bed. “Just thinking about how lucky I am to have such a smoking hot partner in crime.”
If only she knew how literal that was about to become.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Gianna
Dimitri led me to his bedroom, his hand warm and firm against the small of my back. As we crossed the threshold, I felt a shiver run down my spine, like I was entering a lion’s den. The room was quintessentially Dimitri, and it hit me with an almost physical force.
My eyes widened as they adjusted to the dim light. The furniture was all black, a stark contrast against the pale walls. The centerpiece was a massive bed with a black velvet headboard, its faceted buttons catching the moonlight streaming through the window. They glinted like tiny stars, beckoning me closer.
I ran my fingers along the edge of a sleek, midnight-black dresser, its surface cool and smooth beneath my touch. Thematching nightstand stood sentinel by the bed, both pieces as dark and mysterious as Dimitri himself.
But it was the scent that truly overwhelmed me. I inhaled deeply, feeling my heart rate quicken. The room smelled of him—a heady mixture of earth and spice that seemed to wrap around me like a tangible thing. It was intoxicating, dangerous, and utterly irresistible.
My legs felt weak, and I swayed slightly, steadying myself against the dresser. Dimitri’s arm snaked around my waist, pulling me flush against him. I could feel the heat of his body through our clothes, and it sent a jolt of electricity through me.
“Like what you see?” he murmured, his breath hot against my ear. I could hear the smirk in his voice.
I turned in his arms, meeting his intense gaze. My mouth felt dry, and I licked my lips nervously. “It’s very...you,” I managed to say, my voice barely above a whisper.
He chuckled, the sound low and rich, vibrating through his chest and into mine. “I’ll take that as a compliment,” he said, his eyes darkening with desire.
As he leaned in to kiss me, I felt myself being pulled under, drowning in the dangerous allure that was Dimitri. In that moment, surrounded by his scent and wrapped in his arms, I knew I was utterly, hopelessly lost.
Dimitri’s hands glided over my body, leaving trails of fire in their wake. The sound of my zipper coming undone seemed deafening in the quiet room. I shivered, goosebumps rising on my exposed skin.
In a blur of movement that left me breathless, I found myself on his bed. The soft comforter brushed against my feverish skin, a contrast that made me gasp. Dimitri hovered over me, his eyes dark with hunger—for my body, for my blood.
His mouth descended on mine, stealing my breath. Then his lips began a torturous journey down my neck, across my collarbone. Each kiss felt like a brand, marking me as his. I arched into him, desperate for more contact.
His fingers danced across my skin, leaving no inch unexplored. Every touch sent sparks of pleasure shooting through me, building a fire low in my belly. I whimpered, my hands fisting in the sheets as the sensations threatened to overwhelm me.
Then, without warning, I felt the sharp sting of his fangs piercing my neck. I cried out, a mix of pain and pleasure that made my head spin. As he began to drink, a strange lethargy crept over me. My limbs felt heavy, yet every nerve ending was alight with sensation.
The pull of his mouth on my neck sent waves of pleasure coursing through me. My heart raced, pumping my blood faster, feeding his hunger and my desire. I felt dizzy, intoxicated not just by the blood loss but by Dimitri himself.
Despite the growing drowsiness, excitement thrummed through my body. Each pull of his mouth sent a jolt straight to my core. I moaned, my fingers threading through his hair, holding him to me.
As he finally pulled away, his lips stained red with my blood, I felt myself floating on a sea of sensation. Theroom spun slightly, but all I could focus on was Dimitri’s intense gaze and the promise of more pleasure to come.
“More,” I managed to whisper, my voice husky with need. The word seemed to hang in the air between us, charged with desire and something darker, more dangerous.
Dimitri’s answering smile was wicked, sending a fresh wave of heat through my body despite my drowsiness. As he leaned in for another kiss, I knew I was falling deeper into his web, and I couldn’t bring myself to care.
