Page 75 of Never You

“You know about that?”

“I’m seventeen, Jensen. Not eight. Besides, I'm the only one still living at home. You think they could hide something like that from me?”

“Yeah, pretty much.”

“The maids know everything,” she sounds smug, “and I talk to the maids.”

“Right.”

To me, my little sister is just that. My little sister, but last year, she showed me how much she grew up. Even though I’ve always been close with her, I love how she and I seem to grow evencloser lately. Sharing our daily life but mostly confiding in each other about our family frustrations.

“Just let it go, Jensen,” she says, after a few silent moments while Rae brushes her fingers along my arm in a way that I’m sure is meant to be comforting but is actually arousing.

“What do you mean?” I ask, my gaze locked with Rae’s, making it that much harder to hear Della. A lopsided grin haunts her face. A taunting and sexy look, seductive, combined with the sparkle in her eyes.

“Don’t take her back. Just leave it. Leaveher. Fuck dad. If he isn’t going to be elected as governor because you broke up with your girlfriend, he shouldn’t be elected anyway. Because clearly, it’s not about him, then. Is it?”

I whistle. “Don’t let mom hear you. She might ground you, Della.”

“Whatever. I just think it’s bullshit.”

“Our reputation reflects—”

“On him. I know. I’ve heard it just as much as you did growing up. I’m not running for governor, though, and neither are you. It’s bullshit, and you know it. Listen to your little sister and just do whatever you want. Dump the superficial bimbo.”

“Okay, who are you and where did you hide my little, dumb sister? She’s about yay high, with a smart mouth, and looks like a clone of Kathleen Jensen?”

“You’re the one fake dating some girl you don’t even like to please mother, andI’mthe dumb one?”

“Ouch, burn, sis.” I chuckle.

She’s right, though. Della speaks with a level of confidence I never had, but then again I always tried to protect her from ever needing to. Since the day she was born, I made sure my mother’s negative attention was on me. Always pushing her boundaries so Della would look like the perfect daughter that she is.

And hearing her talk like a woman that is opening her eyes to the truth of our family, I regret nothing.

Rae’s hand moves lower, her fingers now running through my happy trail, and I do my best to stay focused as she gives me a playful grin.

“Stop,”I mouth, still listening to my sister telling me to do whatever I want.

“What?” she whispers back, innocently.

“—but you know how she gets,” Della tells me, even though I’m hardly listening. “How is that girl, though? Tell me more about her?”

“Hmm?” I hum, distracted by the little vixen beside me.

“That girl! Rae Stafford? Have you seen her after that? I think I’ve seen her at one of your games. Are you dating her?”

I silently gasp for air when Rae wraps her hand around my cock and starts stroking it up and down.Oh shit, that feels good.

“Err... No!” I reply, louder than intended. “Yes. Euh, I’m still seeing her every now and then. Actually, Della, I gotta go. We’ll talk in New York, okay?”

“What? Why?”

“Bye, sis!” I blurt, hanging up the phone and throwing it beside me on the carpet floor. I lick my lips when I turn my face toward the little minx that’s fucking with my head.

“What are you doing?” I growl, as I pull her closer.

“Just telling you good morning.” Her gold eyes peer up at me in amusement, and for a brief moment, it feels like something goes through my heart.
