“One shot,” I concede, making her jerk up in excitement. “One, Kayla.”

I try to keep a stern voice, but when she holds up my glass with a glittering smile, I have a feeling she’s not really listening and a smile haunts my face.

“Sure,” she taunts, while her eyes give me a clearno.

“To never drinking a fucking mocktail.” Jensen holds up his glass.

“Amen, brother,” Hunter chimes in before I follow with a; “Happy birthday, baby.”

We all down the glass, faces tense when the burning spirit falls on our tongue.

“God, I forgot how disgusting tequila is,” I complain while my friends join me with a mutter.

“Y’all are crazy! I want another one.” Kayla bounces between my legs, clapping like a seal, and I twist her face, grabbing her chin.

I swear, trouble. She’s so much trouble.

“One, baby. We agreed onone.”

The defiance in her light blue eyes turns me on, making it impossible to fight her.

“You agreed onone,” she sasses.

“I tell you what. How about we just skip to the after party?”

Her face falls, her eyes now filled with lust. “Hell yeah.”

“Let’s go.” I tap her thigh, urging her to get up.

“Hold up, does this after party haverealliquor?” Hunter questions, an excited look on his face as he lifts his snapback to run a hand through his hair.

“Fuck yeah,” Kayla blurts before I can.

“Are we invited?” Jensen gives me a look that tells me he’ll be offended if I tell him no, and I let out a laugh as I move my head back and forth between Kayla and him.

“Sure. But when I drag this one to the bedroom to unwrap my present, y’all better get lost.”

Kayla’s jaw drops, her cheeks growing flush.

“Don’t you mean her present, since it’s her birthday and all?” Jensen slides off his stool.

I lean in, brushing my nose against my girl’s. “I’m pretty sure it will be a present we both enjoy.” I give her a quick kiss, then link my hand with hers, dragging her behind me.

“Ew, you’re disgusting,” Jensen says as I hear a chuckle coming from Hunter.

“Just keep moving, hockey boy, or I will change my mind and decide it’s a private party after all.”

“Who knew you could be so blunt?” Kayla smiles when we walk out of the bar, waiting for the rest to join us. I slide my arms around her waist, dipping my chin to look at her.

“I learned from a little minx that could never shut up.”

“Oh, did you now?”

“Yeah, she kept blurting out the most tempting shit at the most inconvenient times.”

“She sounds awful.”

“She is.”
