“Wait.” Zach pulls his jeans and boxers up so he can sit straighter. “Where are you going? You can’t just leave me here like this.”

I chuckle and smile when I finally find my dress behind the mirror. Once I’ve put it on, I adjust my hair and wipe my lips, making sure I look presentable. “You ready to go?” I ask, walking to the door.

As I go to unlock it, he stalks me from behind. He slams his hands against the wood on either side of my head, making me jump. “What’s the rush, Kitty Cat?” His voice is low and sexy, and when I turn to look at him, heat burns behind his eyes. “Don’t you think it’s about time I return the favor?” He drags his hand down my body, resting it on my side.

I push my hips out. “You already did.” He looks up at me and tilts his head. “That was me returning the favor for that dry hump in the closet.”

He smiles, his fingers trailing over the fabric of my dress. “I can do more for you than that if you’d like?”

His hand drops to my middle, and he brushes his finger over my fabric-covered navel. I shiver and close my eyes. “Zach,” I warn through gritted teeth. It feels so good, and it would be nothing for him to drop down to his knees and return the favor, but that’s not how I want it to go down. I need to get home and don’t want to feel rushed when I finally get eaten out. I place my hand over his. “We should go downstairs before someone finds us.”

He drops his hand. “Too bad, I guess tasting you will just have to wait.”

My pulse spikes at that thought, and I push the door’s handle down, making it clear that we won’t be doing that tonight. As much as I want to know what it feels like to have his tongue on me, I’m willing to wait.

I open the door, take Zach’s hand, and pull him out of the room. As we walk down the stairs, a few football players smile at Zach, but he doesn’t seem to care. He’s still too dazed from that blow job.

Standing at the bottom of the stairs, I give him a small kiss. “Thanks for tonight and the updated agreement.”

“If anyone should be thankful, it should be me.” He laughs, bringing me in for a hug.

“I’ve got to go.” One final kiss and I back away. “I’ll call you.” Walking backward, I cringe. “Wait, I can’t. My mother has my phone. I’ll see you at school on Monday if I can’t call you.”

He nods with a smile. “Okay, Cinderella. Can’t wait to see you again.”

With that, I skip out the door and jog to my car, giggling the whole way.

Chapter Twenty-One

Honey

“Livi,” I singsong, skipping to her spot on the bleachers. Although there is a cool bite in the air, I knew she’d be out here, dutifully watching Mike’s practice while doing her homework.

Olivia snaps her head up. “Honey? What are you doing here? Don’t you have riding practice on Thursdays?”

Dropping my bag, I take a seat next to her on the bleachers and rest my feet against the metal in front. “Yeah, but I told my mom that I had some urgent meetings with a couple of girls for the debutante ball so I’d have to cancel.”

“And she believed you?” Her lips curve into a disbelieving smile. “Even after she found out you skipped all of your extra-curriculars last month and snuck out to Kyle’s party last weekend?”

Admittedly, it was a hard sell this time. Especially after coming home from an awesome night with Zach to find my mother waiting at the bottom of her climbing hydrangea bush in another pantsuit, wearing a furrowed brow. Her heels were digging intothe grass, she’d been out there long, and I had to hold back from laughing because she looked so ridiculous.

“She had no reason not to believe me. I told Mary Sancho I’d give her my next pair of limited-edition Jimmy Choos if she lied for me.”

Olivia lets out a low whistle, reclines, and rests her elbows on the seat behind. “You’re a braver woman than I am. Ticking off your mom three times in less than a week has got to carry some serious consequences.”

“What’s the worst she could do now? I’m eighteen and moving to college soon.” Thank goodness. Being under her thumb has been exhausting, and the way she shows she cares is less than nurturing. Moving to Indiana will be the perfect antidote to that. “Besides, I’ve come to the conclusion that I could follow every single one of her exacting rules to the wire, and she’d still find something wrong with it. At least this way, I’m enjoying myself.”

My body hums when number 2 comes jogging off the bench.

“So I’ve heard,” she says deadpan, watching Zach as intently as me. He’s in his element down there, looking commanding and hot. The padding emphasizes his wide shoulders, and I’m left entertaining the idea of fooling around while he’s in his uniform. “Not from you, though.”

Olivia is about as subtle as a sledgehammer to a window. I can hear the bitterness in her tone.

“Oh yeah? What have you heard?” It’s funny; I’ve never been that interested in football, but seeing Zach down there makes me feel like I’ve been missing out. His butt is magnificent in those pants.

“Don’t play dumb, Honey. You know everyone’s talking about you and Zach.”

I throw up a cocky brow, pulling Zach’s leather jacket closer. I stole it the other night, and he hasn’t said anything yet. “Really? It’s been a couple of months now. Surely, we’re old news?”
