For tonight, she decided to do something easy with her hair, leaving it loose down just past her shoulders. Her makeup was more dramatic than she usually liked, going for the smoky eye with dark grays and silvers, and matte lipstick in a soft crème. Overall, she knew she looked good, and from the fire in Fang’s eyes, he agreed.
Tense seconds passed as he stared at her, his gaze scorching her, slowly moving from her loose hair to her top, to her painted-on jeans, to her feet. Finally, his gaze returned to her face—well, more like her mouth.
Before Tessa could blink, Fang had her pinned to the wall beside the door. Not a word was spoken, which was good because she couldn’t speak, not when Fang’s mouth crashed down on hers.
Gasping, Tessa melted as Fang’s mouth devoured hers, his tongue thrusting in to demand her compliance. Her hands curled into his chest as his hands grasped her waist, the other the back of her head, holding her in place for his onslaught. She pressed her thighs together to staunch the flow of wetness gathering there. Holy fuck, how could a kiss reduce her to this?
Slow, then deep, his mouth took ownership of hers. When she nipped his bottom lip, he growled low in his chest, making her nipples hard. She groaned in response, her body responding to his mastery over it.
Tearing his mouth from hers, they stood there, their foreheads pressed together, and panted. The heat of his breaths hitting her face, the beautiful throb of her battered, kiss-swollen lips making her tingle all over, and the taste of him on her tongue….
“Never…never do this….” Fang’s harsh whispered words didn’t register in her muddled brain. She shuddered, her hands on his chest curling in, her fingers eager to slash through the fabric of his t-shirt to get to his hot, hard flesh.
“Fuck, Tessa….” He pulled back just enough to meet her gaze. She visibly swallowed, his already dark eyes turning to burning hot onyx.“Eres la mujer más hermosa que he visto. Me haces perder la cabeza,”he confessed, his voice like deep, delicious dark chocolate straight to her veins.
Immediately, heat bloomed over her chest and into her cheeks, her body pulsing with aching need.
Holy shit. The man and his accent were dangerous.
You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen. You make me lose my mind.
How in the hell could simple words make everything inside her melt?
Drawing in her remaining braincells, she replied, “No te ves tan mal, guapo. You don’t look too bad yourself, handsome.”
His gorgeous mouth turned up into a blinding smile, and she couldn’t help returning it.
“So, themamitaknows a word or two ofespanol, eh?”
She shrugged, deciding to give him something not many knew. “My mother was first generation Mexican-American. She taught me. Don’t let the blonde hair and blue eyes fool you,soy una Latina.”
Surprise registered on his face before it was gone, his features smooth, his true emotion masked behind his patented player grin.
She mentally rolled her eyes. Would she ever get a true read on this man? Was that a red flag?
Come on, Tessa! Your date hasn’t even started yet and you’re already looking for things to worry about.
“It doesn’t take a mind reader to see that there’s more to him than he lets people see….”Skathi’s words returned to her ear, a simple reminder that Tessa was only scratching the surface of the man before her. And if she wanted to go deeper, she needed to give tonight the chance it was meant to be.
So, she dragged in a deep breath, allowed a true smile to spread across her face, then she stepped back, giving herself some much needed breathing room. The man could suck all the air from her body just by being near.
Dangerous.
Delicious.
“So, where are we going?”
His wicked smirk made her lady bits purr. “Worried,mi corazon?”
She scoffed, “No. I just don’t want to waste this banging outfit on fast food and ax throwing.”
Fang chuckled, his eyebrows curving upward in astonishment. “Is that the kind of date you’re used to? You have been datingidiotas,mi amor.”
She rolled her eyes. “You’rean idiot. Ax throwing is fun as hell, I just didn’t want to wear this particular outfit to do it. It’s more a jeans and flannel sort of activity.”
Grinning wickedly, Fang offered, “You’ll see. I promise, this will be a night you will never forget.”
Tessa held her breath at the look in his eyes, a look that said he was determined to keep that promise. So why did it feel like a warning?
