“Of course not,” I huff. “Only the two of you would come up with this crazy plan to throw magic dust in my face to see if I’ve been enchanted.”
“It’s notmagicdust,” Lukas points out. “It’santi-magic dust.”
I roll my eyes. “You know what I mean,” I say pointedly.
“We’re sorry, Grayce.” Raiden gives me a guilty look. “We just wanted to make sure you were all right.”
My anger instantly dissipates. I cannot stay mad at them when they were only doing this out of concern.
“What happened?” Kyven asks. “My guards said you were attacked by Wraith.”
“There were at least a dozen of them,” Lukas explains. “They ambushed us when we reached the border of the city.” He shakes his head. “We killed most of them, but a few got away.” His gaze shifts to one of the guards. “Your warriors helped and then brought us here to be treated.”
“Take two dozen warriors. Search the woods outside the city,” Kyven instructs one of his guards. “Find the Wraith and kill them.”
The guard crosses his arm over his chest and bows low. “Yes, my king.” He quickly leaves the room.
Kyven turns back to Raiden. “Have there been any more Wraith attacks near Florin?”
He shakes his head.
“What of Valren?” Kyven asks Lukas about his kingdom.
“None,” Lukas replies. He tips up his chin and puffs out his chest. “They know better than to attack wolves.”
Kyven purses his lips and then turns his attention back to Raiden. He arches a brow. “I assume you did not receive your invitation by raven then to come for your sister’s coronation?”
Raiden shakes his head.
“You did not ask me about my invitation,” Lukas crosses his arms over his chest. “Or am I to assume my raven was lost trying to deliver it?”
Kyven narrows his eyes. “I sent you a raven too, Wolf-Shifter.”
His response catches Lukas off guard and he frowns. “Really?”
“Yes,” Kyven states firmly. “My mate considers you like a brother to her. Of course we would send you an invitation.”
He walks up to Kyven and claps a hand on his shoulder and grins. “Maybe you’re not as bad as I thought you were, Fae King.”
“I’m glad you finally recognized this,” Kyven replies, a hint of sarcasm lacing his tone.
“Kyven, what happened?” Emryll’s voice rings out from the hallway before she rushes into the room.
She stops short when she sees Lukas and Raiden, her eyes widening slightly as they land on my brother.
Raiden’s mouth gapes as his gaze locks onto hers.
“Raiden, this is Emryll—Kyven’s younger sister.” I gesture to her. “Emryll, this is my older brother, Raiden.”
He bows low before her. “It is an honor to meet you, Princess Emryll.”
A blush spreads across Emryll’s cheeks as she smiles. “And you as well, Prince Raiden.”
Lukas stops short of rolling his eyes, and then elbows Raiden, pulling him out of his lovesick daze.
A hint of a snarl curls Kyven’s lips. He’s just as protective of Emryll as Raiden is with me. It seems he noticed the way they are looking at each other too.
Her gaze drifts down to Raiden’s torn and bloodied shirt. “You are hurt.” Concern is easily read in her features. “What happened?”
