“We’ll flip a coin for it,” Josh finally added as he closed the pantry door.

With a groan, Amanda tried to slip past me, but I was quicker. I darted my hands out and caught her by the waist, pulling her back into me. My lips easily found the sweet spot beneath her ear, and I pressed a lingering kiss there. The shudder that worked its way through her was enough proof that she wasn’t upset at our intrusion.

“We’re just worried about you,” I whispered into her ear, slipping my fingers an inch or two under her sweatshirt and smiling when I felt the goose bumps on her soft skin. “But if you want us to leave, tell us now, and we’ll go. Just say the word.”

She hummed, and the sound was likely meant to sound like she was thinking, but it was oddly reminiscent of a suppressed moan.

“I guess you can both stay,” she relented as Josh took a seat directly in front of us on the arm of the couch. Amanda reached out her hand in offering, and he quickly took it, lacing their fingers together. “But I get to pick the movies. All of them. Without complaints from either of you.”

Josh’s smile was immediate, and it was bizarre how watching his face light up made me smile.

He’d always had a contagious smile. I thought it was the dimples.

“Deal,” he said. And Amanda leaned her head back to look at me.

“Deal,” I repeated with a smile before I closed the short distance between us and pressed my lips to hers. They were soft and yielding, but I didn’t push to deepen it, no matter how difficult it was.

We both pulled back with matching smiles, and I squeezed her once before I let her go. The instant my hands released her, she stepped between Josh’s legs and kissed him. It was similar to the one we’d just shared—soft and genuine.

And my heart somersaulted in my chest because they looked good together. And I didn’t mind it. I wanted to be right there with them.

As the finalcredits rolled on our first movie, I began scrolling through options for the next movie and asked, “How’s Zach holding up?”

“He’s doing well. I called him right before we left the apartment. He’s excited about the possibility of snow again and gave me a rundown of all the activities he plans to do if there is snow. Sam is freaking out, though. I offered to go over to their house and help them prepare, but apparently, Travis had it covered. I don’t think Sam wanted to be stuck with me for possibly days.”

He popped another piece of popcorn into his mouth, but I didn’t miss the slight shake of his head. He didn’t believe Travis had anything covered, and it was probably eating away at him that he wasn’t there to take care of his son.

“I’m sure they’ll take care of him.”

Josh nodded in agreement, very little of the tension dissipating. “I’ll call again in the morning, and Sam promised me she would call me if they needed me.”

“That’s good. I’m sure she will,” I said and settled deeper into our mat on the floor.

We’d taken all the blankets I could find in the apartment, excluding those in Adam’s room because like hell was I going in there, and had thrown them on the living room floor in front of the couch. Under my specific direction, both of the guys had stacked the pillows and positioned the blankets for the optimal movie-watching experience.

It was what I’d planned to do before they randomly showed up, but it had been more fun with them. And so much more entertaining.

“And the gym is good to go?” I turned to Reed, who was seated on my right. He had his own bowl of popcorn because the boys couldn’t share. I was eating out of both of them as my heart desired.

“Yeah, we’ve wrapped all the pipes and followed every other precaution. One of my managers, Collin, lives in the apartments right around the corner, so if anything, he’ll be right there.”

“And your parents?”

He laughed and sipped his beer. “They aren’t even in the country. Mom said they were somewhere in South America. I think she said Chile until next week. Then I’ve been told I’m required to be at their house next weekend for dinner.”

“I love Mama G.” That woman was a saint.

“She loves you, too. Trust me. She actually wanted me to, and I quote, ‘bring my date from the other night’ with me.”

I was confused for a second, then remembered when she called before we made it to the museum. I guess he’d let her know what he was up to and why he declined her calls.

“Oh, so you mean me?”

“Yeah, baby girl, I mean you,” he said, throwing an arm over my shoulder and pulling me into him. He placed a kiss on my temple and the smile that slipped across my face was completely out of my control.
