The fact that we’re all meeting now will make things less stressful at the wedding.

“I love it,” I say, and she looks at me inquisitively. “It’s going to be a magnificent wedding,” I add.

“Thank you.”

Her eyes slide down.

“You’ve never looked so good,” she says as we reach the top of the stairs and float down the steps like two princesses.

Her dress is white and has a plunging back neckline. It clings to her body and makes her look heavenly.

“I can say the same thing about you.”

“Are you still nervous?” she asks, smiling.

“No. Not at all.”

“Good.”

Her eyes move away when a handsome man I instantly recognize heads our way.

He wraps his arm around Thea and kisses her hair.

Ed Preston’s face glows with happiness. A tender smile reaches his eyes when she winds her arms around his neck and gives him a kiss.

“Ready for the big day?” Ed asks when they tear away from each other, and he takes her hand.

“Yes. I can’t wait.”

Someone calls Ed’s name, and they both shift their eyes in that direction.

The housekeeper is waiting for them when Thea turns to me.

“I’ll see you in a few minutes.”

“Sure, no problem,” I reply before watching them walk in that direction while I get ready to step outside.

The heated edgeof a stare makes my cheeks warm.

I look around before a group of people chatting by the door leading to the tent outside catches my eye.

The man staring at me tilts his chin slightly. His azure eyes couldn’t be more telling.He gives me that famished look I know so well.

Next to him, James Sexton and Lex Harrington talk to Tiago Rossi.

Pam is nowhere in sight.

She might be at the table, nursing her drink.

As he had promised, he showed up with her.

Honestly, nobody cared. No one has paid much attention to her anyway.

People who know David Moore have regarded her as just another woman on his arm.
