“He wrote it to me in case anything happened to him,” Raina whispered as she held the letter to her chest. “I need to know who sent you here and how he knew my brother. Will you help me find him?”
I nodded. I wasn’t sure how, but I’d help her however she needed me to. Whatever she needed, I’d be there. This was my pack, and if one lone wolf could find a place to belong, maybe the man who’d stepped in when I needed help could find a place, too. He’d saved my life that day. In more ways than he could ever imagine. I’d do my best to return the favor.
I was still thinking about it later when Gabe and I headed to bed.
“I’m not sure how to help her find him,” I admitted.
We’d all spoken about it at dinner, with Bas saying we’d get together and make plans in the morning.
“I don’t even know what direction he went when we parted ways. Hell, I had no idea he’d left that letter in my vehicle.”
“We’ll figure it out,” Gabe said, dropping a kiss on my lips. “Bas will send out a few wolves to see what they can find. They’ll start at the bar where he connected with you and see what they can pick up from there. Don’t stress over it.”
“What if we went?” I asked. “I know people in that area. Wolf packs.”
Gabe nodded. “We could definitely go. I haven’t had a road trip in a while. Are you okay with going back on the road again so soon?”
“It’s not the same. I’ll be with you, this time. With my pack.” I leaned in and kissed him again. “I’d go anywhere with you.”
“Yeah?”
“Definitely,” I assured him.
He scooped me over his shoulder and patted my ass.
“Good, because I really want to strip you naked, toss you in bed, and have my way with you for the rest of the night.”
“The rest of the night?”
He pushed open the bedroom door and set me on the end of the bed, before taking my mouth again.
“No,” he finally said as he pulled away. “I plan to have my way with you for the rest of our lives. Any problems with that, mate?”
I grinned and shook my head.
“As long as I’m with you.”
“Forever,” he vowed.
“Forever.”
Epilogue
~Gabe~
I paused in the doorway, listening to Teddy and Hunter plot a way to scare their sister, Thea. I held back my laugh, but it was a close call. Thea and Teddy were twins, and I swear Thea had come out of the womb ruling the roost. My girl could do no wrong in my eyes. Much like her mother. Teddy was mischievous and prone to leading his younger, gullible brother straight into chaos. They all made my heart sing.
“Whatever your plotting, don’t,” Eliza warned as she walked into the room. Her gaze swung immediately to me. My woman could always find me. “Are you ready to run Thea over to Taylor and Rebbie’s?”
My baby girl pranced into the room, twirling in her pink tutu. She had a tiara perched on her head and clutched a wand with pink streamers, waving it in the air as she hummed to whatever music was in her head. Until she saw me. Then it was a squeal that hit me right in the heart.
“Daddy!”
She ran over to me and jumped into my arms with no reservation. I loved how fearless she was. And trusting. My girl knew I’d never let her fall.
“I’m going to sleep over with Sophie, Daddy. We’re going to tea party and dance.”
“And you’re going to be nice and include Tessa when you play,” Eliza warned, walking with Hunter wrapped around her leg. He was definitely his mama’s baby. “Thea?”
