“Sick fuck,” I mumble, my stomach roiling at the image my mind’s conjured up of Sienna at this asshole’s mercy.
“Yeah. That’s what’s waiting for the future Mrs. Angeloni.”
I stand up, my fingers gripping the table I’m so fucking angry right now. “Not if I have anything to do with it.”
“So what’s your plan?” Gideon asks with a hint more emotion than a moment before.
“I’ll need a place to stay. Is the villa available?”
He shakes his head. “No. It’s being refurbished and won’t be done for another month.”
Compared to Helix’s other son, Alex, this one is practically a joy to deal with on most occasions. His desire for luxury is one part of him I could do without, though, especially now.
“Then I’ll have to stay here,” I say, hoping that makes him change his mind about the villa. No doubt, he won’t want me running my business out of his hotel. He likes to keep it out of what Helix and I do most of the time. I’m sure he can get his designer back into the villa after I’m done with getting Sienna away from this place.
But he doesn’t take the bait, strangely enough. “That’s fine. I set aside one of the best rooms we have for you.”
“The penthouse?” I ask with a chuckle, sure he didn’t mean that.
Gideon’s eyes get wide for a moment before he shakes his head. “Not likely since that’s where I live. Not to worry, though. I made sure to give you a nice view.”
I don’t plan on enjoying the view much while I’m here. This trip is pure business. I need to find Sienna, get her the hell away from her family and that Lucius asshole, and disappear with her far away from here.
“Sasha has been briefed on your visit, so whatever you want, all you need to do is ask her.”
His assistant, the tall, stunning blonde with icy blue eyes, there at my beck and call. It sounds good, but can I trust her?
“I need her to keep her mouth shut. Can she do that? If not, then she’s no good to me.”
He smiles like he’s already thought about what he plans to do to her if she doesn’t do exactly that. “Not to worry. She knows better than to say anything. That’s why she’s so valuable to me.”
I’ve only met Sasha a handful of times, but every one of them made me question if she’s more than an assistant to Gideon. She’s beautiful, for sure, but he tends to go in for a different type than her.
Then again, who knows what happens when two people work as closely as they do, day in and day out?
“She needs to act like we don’t know one another. Is acting one of her talents?”
His grin answers my question before he does. “Sasha does what she’s told. That’s why she’s such a wonderful assistant. She’ll do as I say. As for not telling anyone what you and I are up to, don’t worry. That NDA she signed means she won’t say a word.”
Now I’m really unsure if they’re more than just employer and employee. Curious, I ask, “Any chance there’s another reason why she’ll do as you tell her to?”
Gideon screws his face into a grimace for a moment before his icy expression returns. “Haven’t you ever heard of not shitting where you eat? It’s good advice. I try to follow it as often as permissible.”
I laugh at how irritated my simple question made him. “So no extracurricular fun with your sexy assistant?”
He rolls his eyes and begins walking toward the door. “The last thing I want in my life is a woman just like me.”
“That’s technically not a no,” I say as I follow him.
Gideon ignores my attempt to glean more information about what he does or doesn’t do with his beautiful assistant. “Let’s go so you can get into your room and get working on your job here.”
That’s one thing I can appreciate about Gideon. He’s all business. At least he is with me. He doesn’t let emotions get in the way of anything, and I like that. I’ve got enough on my plate dealing with what the hell I’m going to do to get Sienna away from her family and Lucius Angeloni.
CHAPTER SEVEN
Sienna
Hours sitting in this dark room without a single person coming in to ask if I need food or water makes me feel like a real prisoner. My brother is a real piece of work doing this to me.
