Sensing her rising climax, Andrian’s lips left hers, moving back to her ear.

“That’s it,nio. I want to feel you come on my cock.”

She nearly came right then.

But she refused to give him the satisfaction.

She somehow managed to form words around her panted breath.

“If that’s what you want, you’re going to have to try a little harder than that.”

Andrian’s grin was fiendish as he pulled away, his chest leaving hers. He slipped out of her for just a moment as he rose onto his knees. He then pulled her right leg up to his chest, hooking her foot onto his shoulder as he placed his knee outside of her left.

Mariah felt completely exposed, bared, and utterly vulnerable to him.

She’d never admit it, but deep down … she loved it. That surrendering of control.

Andrian’s eyes raked down her naked form, the hand that had lifted her leg to his shoulder sliding down her calf to rest on her knee. He gripped his cock with his other hand, pumping himself once, before lining himself with her entrance and pushing into her in a single thrust.

This position … it felt likesin. He felt impossibly deep, toodeep, her muscles coiling in her legs and stomach and chest as she felt herself fraying around the edges. Her eyes rolled back into her head, her fingers desperately seeking purchase in the silk sheets, the lack of him to scratch and claw frustrating and maddening andhot.

Above her, she heard him groan.

“So fucking good, nio.”

Those words. They were all it took for her to open to him completely, everything in her going liquid. Her eyes shot open, meeting his stare, their shared look silently voicing a million words neither of them could say.

His pace was punishing, claiming, as if he wanted to mark her as his, to ruin everyone—anyone—who might come after him.

Somewhere, deep in the dark recesses of her mind, Mariah knew there would never be anyone else. Or, at least, anyone else who could make her feel like this.

The second he’d stalked into her life, she’d been ruined.

That rising tide within her began to quicken again, pulling her towards the sky with each thrust of his hips. She hadn’t realized her eyes had closed again until she felt his other hand on her stomach, moving down, the rough pad of his thumb brushing her clit.

She met his gaze as he lightly swirled his finger over that cluster of nerves, light and magic crackling in her veins as she raced for the stars. Absently, she felt his name again slip unbidden from between her teeth.

Sweat shone on his brow as he murmured against the skin of her calf.

“Come for me,nio.”

So she did.

She felt herself fracture into a million pieces, a hoarse cry pulling from her lungs as the tsunami of her release buried her, washing away with it the memories and trauma and anger and fear that had threatened to drown her.

When she finally felt herself begin to drop from that high, she felt Andrian’s grip on her leg tighten, a growl escaping his lips as he found his own release. He dropped her leg to the bed as he collapsed onto her, his face buried into her neck. His hair tickled her cheek, the dark strands damp with sweat.

Breathing heavily, their eyes closed, they lay there together, still joined, their bodies riding out the last few waves of their pleasure, skin coated and dripping with sweat.

When Mariah finally opened her eyes, her breath caught in her throat.

The entire room was lit up by sparkling silver-gold light, the threads of her magic floating idly and peacefully about the room.

Noticing her stillness, Andrian lifted his head from the crook of her neck, his tanzanite eyes twinkling in the light of the room. As he glanced above them, at the light dancing in the air, his expression slipped into one of wonder, his normal walls still down.

Just as hers were.

Her heart sputtered in her chest when he turned his attention back to her. When he pressed a light kiss to the bottom of her jaw.
