“It’s not serious, but I’m not fucking anyone as long as I’m in her bed.”

“That’s called monogamy.” Lacey slapped her palms to her thighs. “Since you’re in a relationship now, do you think Kodiak would fuck on camera?”

Before I could respond, Scarlett hollered from the hall. “Bullet!”

Fuck, she sounded scared.

“In here,” Clover said, swinging the door wide.

I jumped from the couch and rushed into the hall. Scarlett had an arm around her sister. Tear stains streaked Skye’s cheeks. Mascara marred beneath her swollen, puffy eyes. She limped, her knees buckling with every step.

With an arm under her knees and one behind her back, I scooped her up. Her arms wrapped around me, and she buried her face in my neck.

“What happened?” Lacey asked Scarlett as they followed me into the office.

“I don’t know. She won’t tell me.”

I carried her into the office, gently set her down on the couch, and squatted in front of her. “Talk to me, Skye. What’s going on?”

Clover handed her a tissue.

I rested my palms on her knees. She tried to adjust but flinched as if she were in pain.

Scarlett sat next to her sister. “Did someone hurt you last night? Were you working?” Scarlett’s voice hardened, and hairs on the back of my neck rose.

She couldn’t have been working because we were shut down. Blue had been at the MC. My girls didn’t work on the streets. I snapped my gaze to Lacey, and she barely shook her head, confirming Skye didn’t have a client last night.

“Do you want us to give you some privacy?” Clover asked. Tension built in the room. If Skye was working, shit was about to go down.

“It’s up to you,” I said to Skye. “You know me, but let me make something clear, you fucking lie to me, we’re going to have a problem.”

The rules protected the girls from getting hurt. And they kept the cops out of my business. Skye knew the rules and understood the consequences of breaking them. If she fucked for money last night, we were done.

Fat tears welled in her eyes.

“If you made a mistake, you gotta own it,” Lacey said. “Did you take a client last night?”

Her lips trembled, and she barely nodded.

“You stupid girl.” Scarlett pointed at her sister. “Tell him everything.” She aggressively raked her fingers through her hair. “Oh my god. Bullet, she knows the rules.”

Skye hiccupped on a breath.

Lacey sat behind the desk and typed on the keyboard. “Who did you see?”

“A guy I met on Tinder. I didn’t know him.”

“Then it was just a hookup.” Scarlett released a heavy sigh. “You’re good as long as you didn’t fuck him for money—”

“He took me to a party. They all went to Eminence University. They were just frat guys. Some of them were on the EU football team. Fifty bucks for a blow job. But a couple of guys wanted more. They had molly. Once I was high, everything changed.” Her voice grew whisper quiet. “I let three guys pull a train on me for five hundred.”

Scarlett dropped onto the couch next to her sister.

Skye cried out, her body shuttered, and she squeezed her thighs together.

“Did they hurt you?” I curled my hand into a fist.

“I don’t know. My pussy feels raw, but I thought they’d just gone at me hard. There was blood in my panties, but I can’t tell where it’s coming from.”
