“So I’ll be gettingyouoff around nine thirty then?”

I dart him a cheeky glance over my shoulder, waving him off as I head toward the building. I hear the purr of his truck’s engine pulling away as I round the corner to the back of the lodge, bound for the employee entrance. I still can’t wipe the smile off of my face, my mind tangled with images of the guy who put it there.

Chase Walker. Who would’ve thought?

I giggle to myself as I push open the door and step inside the locker room, freezing in my tracks as a prickle of warning claws at me, my wolf pushing forward and her hackles raising.

Something doesn’t feel right.

My nose twitches as I scent the tang of blood in the air, eyes sweeping around and landing on a body on the floor. A foul smell assaults my nostrils and I whip around, curling my fingers around the door handle and yanking it open to run back outside. The cold air whooshes in my face as I spring forward, my body in pure fight or flight mode.

Bang!

CHAPTER FORTY

Chase

“Howdoyouwantme?” Vienna purrs, crawling toward me on the bed in a lacy black matching bra and panty set. Her hooded, lust-filled gaze meets mine and she dips her head down to lick her tongue across my abs, sending a shiver skating down my spine.

“Any way you want it, baby,” I growl, burying a hand in her soft-as-fuck hair and tugging on the strands as she continues trailing her tongue along the dips and curves of my muscles.

“Hmm…” Vienna rocks back to sit up on her heels, tilting her head coyly and putting a finger to her chin in thought. Then she smirks to herself, turning away from me and tossing a leg over my body, climbing over to straddle my waist with her back to me.

I grab a handful of her pretty little ass in each palm as she rises up on her knees to line her center up over my cock, slipping her panties to the side and slowly lowering herself onto my throbbing hard-on.

“Fuuuuuck,” I choke out as I sink into her wet heat, my fingertips digging into her ass cheeks as she slowly makes her descent until I’m buried to the hilt. “Your pussy is fuckin’ heaven, baby.”

She darts me a sultry glance over her shoulder, smirk deepening as she grinds down on me. “Little devils don’t belong in heaven.”

I groan at the sensation of her tight walls choking my cock and at the hot-as-fuck sight of her peeking back at me like that, eyes clouded with lust. “Then take me to hell.”

She lifts almost all the way off of my dick then slams back down, making me see stars as she rides me hard in reverse cowgirl. Her dark hair spills down her back like ribbons and I reach out to grasp it, winding it around my fist and tugging her head back. A breathy moan slips past her lips, mingled with the sound of my name.

“Chase!”

Her voice doesn’t sound like her own, though. It sounds deeper, almost… masculine? The fuck?

“Chase!”

My eyes fly open and I jerk upwards in bed as my door is flung back with a loud clatter, the knob punching a hole through the drywall behind it. Gray and Theo rush into my room in a panic, their heavy footfalls like a frantic drum beat as they eat up the distance to the bed.

“Have you heard from Vienna?” Gray demands. My heart stutters in my chest and for several tortuous moments, time grinds to a halt.

She’s not here in my bed riding my dick; that was just a dream. I dropped her off at the lodge a while ago, and the whole ride home, I had this niggling feeling that something was wrong- but I chalked it up to the adrenaline crash after the events of this morning and my complete lack of sleep last night. I came back to the packhouse, got in bed, passed out, and now…

“What’s wrong?” I demand, throwing back the sheet and jumping out of bed, clad only in my boxers. My pulse thumps at a chaotic rhythm, my throat so tight that I can barely breathe. Something bad has happened, I can feel it in my gut, and going from a dead sleep to a state of sheer panic has me unsteady on my feet.

Gray doesn’t look much better- I’ve never seen a hint of fear on this guy until right now. His face is pale, his eyes bloodshot and his jaw set tightly. “Fallon said she was going to meet up with Vienna, and now I can’t get ahold of her,” he rushes out, agitation bleeding into every word. “I got a call that Vee never showed for her shift at the lodge and another waitress was found dead in the locker room.” His eyes glitter with gold as his wolf pushes forward in a rage. “Our security up there didn’t see a goddamn thing! Customers were complaining about not getting any service, so one of the front desk clerks went searching and found the body.”

Thump. Thump.

My pulse rings in my ears, and it’s a miracle that my heart can still beat at all while it’s currently splintering to shards in my chest. “No, no, no,” I utter in disbelief, tugging at my hair and shaking my head as panic leaches into my bones. “I just dropped her off!”

“Gray!” a loud voice booms from downstairs, and he whips around at the call of his name, sprinting toward the door with Theo hot on his heels. I snatch a pair of sweatpants off the floor, stumbling into them as I follow Gray and Theo into the hall while swiping my phone off the dresser on the way. I catch up to them on the stairs and nearly trip over my feet as the three of us hustle down, Jax and Reid waiting for us at the bottom.

“Serena’s gone too,” Reid snarls, and the guy who is always the picture of composure proceeds to lose his goddamn mind, spiking a bowl of fruit off the kitchen table, growling and pacing.

Theo looks to Jax, his voice strained when he speaks. “Quinn?”
