“You want the good news or the bad news?”

“Bad.”

“The generator needs gas.”

“Oh no. What’s the good?”

“There are some extra cans in the barn. I just can’t go out there until the snow dies down.”

“Okay.” I start lighting the candles. “We’ll just have to make do with these for now. Luckily dinner is ready, too. The chili will help us stay warm.”

“And it smells delicious.” He points to the basket of candles. “Give me the rest, and I’ll set them up in the living room after I add some wood to the fire.”

After he takes them and leaves, I grab a couple bowls, some crackers and cheese, and get our dinner ready. I tuck a couple beers under my arm as well because why not? I can’t work tonight, might as well drink a little to relax and keep warm.

Luke has the fire roaring when I walk in. I set his bowl down while he grabs the beers from my arm. Unlike earlier conversations, the one we share over dinner is light. I ask about the horses, how many more we’ll need to buy, and if we should continue to board for the few that we currently have. Every question I pose seems to lead to three more. At least between the two of us we have a solid plan and foundation for this business venture.

“I’ll clean up the dishes.” I stand and grab both of our bowls while Eli snuggles back further under the blanket.

She flashes a smile at me, and it makes me feel like a kid with a crush again. How long will these moments last? Forever, hopefully.

It’s starting to get really chilly in the kitchen, so after I put the dishes in the dishwasher, I open the sink cabinet and let the faucet trickle, so it doesn’t freeze. I need to do that with all the sinks in the house. Eli hands me the flashlight when I tell her what I’m going to do.

I checked in the camera feed from the stable and barns earlier, and it looks like all the animals are doing fine. The snow is supposed to die down early tomorrow morning so we should be good as long as we keep the fire going in the living room. We can make a pallet on the floor and sleep there.

She must have had the same idea because when I get back to the room, she’s laid out several blankets and pillows for us. The candles in the kitchen have been blown out so there’s only light from the fireplace and the three candles on the center of the coffee table. She’s the epitome of temptation in the flickering light thrown by the flames.

“I thought we could cuddle up by the fire.”

“I was thinking that, too.” I cross the distance between us. “I think it’s your turn to strip for me, though.”

Her eyes widen in surprise. “In the cold?”

“I know how to keep you warm.”

Her cheeks flush in the delectable way only hers can. I know her chest is probably just as rosy. She watches me as she hooks her fingers in the waistband of her joggers and pushes them down her flared hips. She steps out of them and drapes them neatly over the arm of the couch.

Her confidence grows as she must see how much I want her written all over my face. She grabs the hem of her hoodie and slowly lifts it up, revealing inch by inch of her torso. Her breasts emerge next, so fucking pretty and perfect. Once the hoodie is off, she sets it on top of her pants and turns her attention to me.

“What now?”

I look down at her purple cotton panties and pull my shirt over my head. “I think you’re forgetting something.”

“Oh, these?” She tilts her head coquettishly and runs a finger along the lace trim.

“Yeah. Those. Drop ‘em, Sunbeam.”

Instead of doing as I ask, she drops to her knees before me. Her fingers creep up my thighs and trace the outline of the erection straining against the denim holding it back. She unbuttons my jeans and then slowly slides the zipper down. Her eyes meet mine right as she begins to work them down my legs.

My cock springs free, stealing her attention as she wraps her hand around its base and slowly pumps. I forget all about wanting her fully naked as her tongue flicks across my tip. My cock pulses at the sound she makes when she tastes me.

“May I?”

She looks so pretty naked on her knees at my feet. I run my fingers through her hair gently. “Yes.”
