Those were all things she’d experienced and part of the reason she’d been down on men. Were there some good ones out there? Of course. She just hadn’t met any of them until now. He wrapped his arms around her, and she snuggled with her back to his chest.
“I know we have to go.” Fate was coming for her one way or the other. It’s just part of life. “I just…” How do you tell someone you were just starting to care about that you weren’t always the nicest person? Did they need to know? Couldn’t she keep it to herself? What happens when that one person who hates you put your business out in the street? He was going to find out, anyway. Shouldn’t she be the one to tell him?
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” She rushed the word and then flinched, knowing she hadn’t hidden a thing. Lying was never her strong suit.
“Two swats on your gorgeous ass for lying to me.” Now, this was a problem. She didn’t want to lie or avoid the truth with him, but getting promised swats made her thighs tingle. Her ass reddened in response, and her pussy dripped. Let’s not talk about how tight her nipples were.
Zylar caressed one of her nipples, rolling it around through her shirt. She had to bite her tongue to keep from drawing attention to them.
“Someone likes the thought of me spanking her ass, making it red before I smooth it with my hand and kiss it to make it feel better.” A soft moan left her lips.
“You’re a tease,” she said, her fingers entwining with his.
“You know you like it. Come on, let’s try to eat again. You need food and your tummy is still rumbling.”

How had she come with nothing, but was leaving with a small bag of clothes? It was the world’s best-kept secret.
“I’m going to take this to the shuttle and then visit with Delsa for a few before it’s time to go.”
“Come here.” His voice went deeper and took on a commanding edge. Amelia shivered and started thinking of other things she could do until it was time to go.
She walked over to him slowly, dragging the anticipation out until it was a fever pitch. When his hand held onto her waist, drawing her closer, her knees were ready to buckle with the desire she felt deep inside. His lips slanted over hers, kissing her like there’d be no tomorrow. She clutched at his shirt as she felt her knees give. He drew back with a wicked smile on his lips.
“Now you can go visit Delsa.”
“Men,” she rumbled, trying to hide the fact that she was ready to sink to the floor and give him a blow job that would burn brain cells.
What a difference a few days could make. The crew smiled and talked to her as she walked the hallways on the way to the hangar. A few even told her to come back soon, and they’d miss her while she was gone. Making friends hadn’t been part of her plan. That stopped her. What plan? She planned to run from state to state and country to country until she found a placewhere she could lose herself and never be found. This wasn’t part of the plan period.
The shuttle was open. She dropped her bag in the cargo bay and went to find Delsa, who was standing outside the shuttle.
“You weren’t leaving without saying goodbye, were you?” Delsa stared at her like she was a convicted convict and Delsa was waiting for her to tell the truth.
“Nope, I was on my way to find you.”
“Perfect. Let’s talk on the shuttle where there are fewer listening ears.” She pulled at her earlobe, which was pointed now that Amelia was paying attention.
They went up the ramp and then took a seat in the passenger section.
“Shoot,” Delsa said.
“What?” Amelia was confused.
“I know that look. You wanted to ask me questions, but never got a chance. Now’s your time.”
She had lots of questions for her new bestie, but hadn’t been willing to dig into her life.
“How did you meet your mate?”
“My planet Novara was being destroyed, but our scientists couldn’t understand what was happening. The Diza came to help. We eventually discovered that the Tan-ge had planted a virus that would eat the planet until it fell apart. In doing that, they also killed off ninety percent of our people, male and female. The planet was doomed and there was nothing to do but flee.”
“Where did you go?” Amelia didn’t know if she should tell her friend how sad she was for her and her people.
“I think I’ll let that be a surprise. Anyway, I met my mate then. We’ve been together for five hundred years. Not once did I ever regret choosing him. Have you seen his ass?”
