“I only want you, and if you weren’t so adamant I had to be eighteen for filthy business, I’d get on my knees right now and prove how much I want you.”

“Fuck, Kinsley! We have a meeting with the lawyer, and I’m sporting a hard-on.”

“I can do something about it.” I wiggle my brows.

“Ugh!” He stands with me in his arms and helps me to my feet, letting me slide down his body and feel every hard inch of him. There is a lot to feel. The ass smirks, knowing damn well what he is doing to me.

“Salem will drive us. Jock is coming with us too.”

I nod and straighten my blouse. The moment we are downstairs, Nine steps into view. Tiberius places his hand on my back.

The scary man clears his throat and looks annoyed. “I want to apologize to you. I never meant to hurt you. It was a reflex action. Maybe next time, shout through the door before entering.”

“Is that supposed to be an apology,” Jock scoffs.

Nine grimaces and gives Jock the finger. “Kinsley, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.”

“Apology accepted.” I grab hold of Tiberius’s hand and don’t let go.

I don’t miss Nine’s gaze land on our joined hands. It’s like a lightbulb goes off in his head, and he smiles.

“I get it now,” he mutters.

TIBERIUS

The lawyer flickshis gaze back and forth between us as Kinsley reviews the legal documents she needs to sign. I know she understands what my mother did was wrong, and I understand her wish to make it right. She can’t, though. Jude’s will is ironclad.

Kinsley passes me the documents. “Can you look them over before I sign, please? I don’t want to miss anything.”

“I can assure you that the documents are in order,” Fielding says.

Placing her hand on my arm, she says, “I trust Tiberius to make sure I’m signing what I’m supposed to, since I’ve never signed a legal document before.”

I’ll be damned if my heart doesn’t swell at the confidence she has in me. I need to make sure I don’t fuck up the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

“You have made peace with your uncle, I see.”

She’s made a lot more than peace with me, old man!

“I know you’re aware that I’m not her uncle. My brother told you. I found your letter in reply to his confession.”

Fielding goes quiet and blushes.

I pass the documents to Kinsley. “It’s okay, sweetheart, sign away.” I hold Fielding’s gaze.

“Okay,” she replies.

I turn my attention to Kinsley as she signs the documents. Three copies.

“Are we done?” I ask.

Fielding nods.

The moment we’re out of the office and the door closes behind us, Kinsley asks, “What was going on with him?”

“The clue was when he referred to me as your uncle. He knows something is going on between us, and he doesn’t approve. He probably thinks I’m using you. You’re young and innocent.”
