Beckett gave Madi a quick glance. “Could we continue the conversation later? Poolside after Becka goes to bed?”

Madi smiled, thinking of the nights that she had enjoyed with Beckett before all this. She wanted nothing more than to go back to that. Or, better yet—to go forward now, but with the full truth between them.

“I’ll be here. But Beckett, you do realize that you’ve never taken me out on an actual date?”

Graham shouted from over by the grill. “You haven’t taken your girlfriend on a date yet, brother?”

Beckett’s mouth dropped open. “I guess I haven’t. We need to remedy that.”

“We’ll babysit!” Courtney called.

“Perfect,” Beckett said. “For tonight, though, one last non-date date by the pool?”

“You’ve got it.” Madi smiled, watching Beckett swim off with Becka squealing in his arms.
