It’s a miracle that happens every day, yet many of us insist on ignoring it.
“Go back to sleep, we all need to rest after what happened last night. Let the kids miss school today, we can all go to breakfast later.”
“But Bruce…” I start to argue.
He laughs, which is music to my ears.
“Don’t be so stubborn, woman! Just for today you can forget about the schedule.”

Let’s see…
Hawaii was too far, Bali was out of my meager budget. French Polynesia…
Hmm.
Think, brain, think.
I kept looking on my favorite travel site until the words specialoffer jumped out, catching my attention.
Well! The universe finally conspired in my favor.

Let’s see, let’s see, this looked interesting. The price was still a bit high, but it was worth it. The hotel was beautiful, the kind I had only seen in magazines.
The Bahamas, eight days, seven nights.
Just my husband and I.
Alone.
At last.
The children could stay at home with their grandparents, I’d already organized that. My mother-in-law was almost more excited than I was when I mentioned the possibility of having her grandchildren to herself for a few days.
