My feet still without touching ground. I’m not sure if that’s because of the huge bouquet of balloons I’m carrying with me or because I’m in Lancelot’s arms.
It makes me sad seeing my friends from the street at the exit of the stadium, the parking lot deserted. They were here almost all day long, I have to do something really nice for them. I just need a little time to plan it, they are just as much a part of this.
Michelle went out of her way at the bar. She hung a huge banner and balloons and streamers are all over the place.
Some of my oldest friends are here too, Oliver and Sawyer. Even Adrik, Lancelot’s childhood friend, has joined the celebration.
“Are you hungry?” Michelle asks us after hugging me tight.
“Feed us,” screams Roselynn as soon as she’s sitting around the table.
The place is full of laughter, loud conversations, and good vibes.
Lancelot has his arm around me, looking at all the people who are here with me. My heart feels so full. All the pieces are falling in place. I just want to know if the remaining four are coming together too.

Chapter 21
“Are you excited?” Roselynn asks from her spot on my bed while I continue packing.
“I’m more nervous than excited since I have no idea where he’s taking me,” I reply, taking my lollipop out of my mouth for a couple seconds. “It’s frustrating not knowing what to pack.”
The truth is that Lancelot’s lips are sealed, and believe me, I’ve tried all my best techniques to get some information out of him. The result? Zero, nada.
This last month has been like a dream, full of surprises and excitement.
People say they hate routine, but for me routine is a blessing. Lancelot usually goes to the gym early in the morning while I stay in bed, stealing the last five minutes of sleep. Then I spend my days at the bakery, while he’s working at the bank. Most days he picks me up from work and then we go to his house to have a quiet night at home. On Saturdays, we wander to our favorite spots in the city and try new places to have dinner and drinks.
Waking up late is a real luxury for me. On Sundays, we stay in bed for hours, indulging ourselves with a breakfast of kisses and sighs.
The best month of my entire life.
I’ve slept on the stinky sidewalk, under a tree, on a bench at a bus stop trying to shelter from the rain, but at this point, I’m pretty sure nothing would be harder than going back to my apartment to sleep in my bed alone.
Nothing this good lasts forever.
I’m well aware of that.
However, I’m discovering a part of me that is new and amazing. Lancelot is protective and caring, so for the first time in a very long time, I’m relaxing and enjoying just being myself, without any worries or fears. It’s liberating.
I’m feeling free with the Suit. Who would ever have thought I’d say those words?
“Two dresses, jeans, and Chucks. What am I missing?”
Gah! This is like talking to the wall. Roselynn just smiles and looks at me through those big pink glasses she likes wearing to view the world lately.
