I don’t want to think about him.
Without thinking twice and before I can even take off my work clothes, I go to the small desk in the corner, where there’s a laptop that Roselynn forced me to buy months ago. Not allowing time for me to doubt myself, I turn it on and watch the mail application open.
I write a three letter word.
I’m ready for the next step.
I press the send key and the concise mail leaves, consisting of only one word.
Yes.

Tell me I’m not dreaming, my California Girl. Tell me that this is not a product of my hot imagination. Tell me it’s true.
Or better, don’t.
Let me keep that word with which, once again, you have turned my world upside down.
I’m going to prepare everything. I want it to be memorable. Unforgettable. An occasion just for the two of us.
We have a lot to talk about, but first I want to feel you and make you feel me.
I want to clear these doubts that overwhelm me, I want to know if you feel the same as me and if this is real.
If this is nothing more than a mirage.
You will emerge from fantasy, my beautiful California Girl, you are a dream that is about to come true.
Excited and yours,
A x
PS: Yes, that kind of excited ;)
Chapter 12
I can feel the minutes dragging slowly, they slowly continue to pass and turn into hours. The hours into whole days and, of those, four have elapsed, during which I haven’t thought about the Suit.
Of course not!
I haven’t thought of him when I’m in my bed alone, tossing and turning, unable to sleep a wink. Not a single night has he come to stalk my dreams, how dare you think that?
Nor when I shower and much less when the water hits my body, the damn sprinkler reminding me of what happened at Seaport Village. Of course I resist.
I don’t let him disturb my life.
Of course not.
Who do you think I am?
Not for a moment does he appear in my mind as I try to work in the bakery or while I’m researching for the show or working with Katie on our baking times.
