I open my eyes and I’m frozen in shock.
This can’t be happening.
This is a mirage.
How?
Oh my God. This is happening. Believe it or not!
I look at Lancelot again, and then I look around the room and I still don’t believe it. There are four pairs of eyes similar to mine, looking back at me as if I were a miracle.
No, they are the true miracle.
“Tell me this is true,” I say quietly, afraid I’ll wake up from this dream.
“Of course it’s true,” says a voice that isn’t Lancelot’s.
It is the voice of Joshua, my older brother.
That’s all it takes. I cry, I cry and I cry like a baby.
Joshua is here and he hasn’t come alone. All my brothers are here.
Here with me. He found my brothers.
Lancelot has found my brothers, all of them, Joshua, Aaron, Ezekiel, and Nahum.
“Don’t cry,” Nahum says, approaching me.
His words are in vain. Even Lancelot’s eyes are misty. I love him so fiercely, madly for doing this for me.
Oh my gosh, he brought my brothers here to me.
“We have come to see you happy, little sister, not crying a sea of tears.” Now it’s Aaron who greets me. “Come, give us a hug and dry those beautiful eyes, today is a great day and we have all come to celebrate with you.”
Even with teary eyes, I give them my best smile, because they’re right. This is a big day and it has just become the best day ever.
He did this for me.
For me.
He called me his forever. But I’m pretty sure I’ll love him beyond that. My heart is so full right now.
My brothers hug me and I let myself be loved, returning the gesture with the same intensity.
“How did you find them?” I ask my fiancé, still wrapped in Ezekiel’s arms.
“Adrik has some good contacts, and he recommended a former navy friend who is now engaged in the PI business. I gave him the names of your brothers and because they’re quite unusual, he managed to find them just a couple of days ago.
“Did you get out of The Villa? Or do you all still live there?”
“It’s a long story and there’s not enough time to tell you the whole thing. But no, we don’t live in The Villa anymore. We left that place about six years ago, and now we’re partners in a carpentry shop in a town near Pittsburgh.” Aaron’s words calm my heart. Thank goodness they aren’t there anymore. That life is insufferable. Worse than living in jail.
“I don’t care about the time! I want to know everything.”
The five of them, including Lancelot, laugh.
“Only my sister is capable of being late for her own wedding.”
