I raised my eyebrows.

My wife would never be neglected. My life mission was to make her happy.

And I had plans for that evening, starting with our clothes ending on the floor, my hands roaming over that beautiful body and my mouth on her pussy making her scream with pleasure.

Just one word on her lips.

My name.

Forever.

Sex between us had always been pretty amazing, but once the minister pronounced us man and wife, something changed as our relationship evolved and moved to another level.

Everything between us became deeper and more meaningful.

The threefold cord folks tell stories around. A man, his woman, and their love.

I closed the distance between us as I reached for her, quickly disposing of those tight jeans she was wearing, not stopping until her moans were filling the room. Gasps broke the silence while our bodies melded together, twisting the sheets in an ocean of passionate tides.

Far too quickly, our time in paradise came to an end, and we returned ready to start our lives back in San Diego. Rose brought home all her brand new dresses unworn, she hadn’t needed them in our private idyll and therefore had no suntan lines, all she’d worn was a smile on her beautiful face.

I couldn’t think of a better way to start a new chapter.

Chapter 23

Rose

Present day

Until this morning, I’d been having some quiet days, with some solitude and silence. Some peace. Some time to reflect and gather myself and say hello to the old me. No, that’s a lie. To say hello to a better version of me.

Owning my sunshine again.

Until this morning, when I opened the front door to find a vase of peonies and a card from Chase wishing me a happy week at work and inviting me to have dinner with him.

Well, fuck that.

That man can go and have dinner with himself. That was what he wanted, wasn’t it?

His freedom.

I’m too tired to deal with him. These past few days have been incredibly busy but also incredibly fulfilling. I’ve been pretty much working two jobs, spending all day at the agency, then coming home and putting in all kinds of extra hours with Ariel to get our bakery venture up and running.

A few days ago, we found suitable premises in a trendy part of Downtown, within walking distance of our current home, and now we’re looking for a company to do the remodeling. The place used to be a garage, so it needs lots of TLC.

In my previous life, I would’ve asked Chase for his advice, and with his contacts and expertise, I’d already have a signed contract in place with some great construction company.

Now I have to figure it out by myself. And, you know what? It actually feels pretty great, and just goes to show what you can do when you put your mind to it.

My phone chimes.

Have a wonderful day, doll.

Sighs…

You look beautiful today.

From silent to stalker.
