Max heads to Seb and pushes a piece of paper in his face. “If you sign this contract, you’re giving us permission to take the omega through her heat. The Club needs a signature.”
I’m surprised he’s talking about Ava this way. He never normally calls her by her designation.
Seb is so exhausted he doesn’t push the contract away.
His eyes roam over the details as he reads it. “No way. She’s mine.”
I shrug my shoulders and lie to his face. “You’re a beta. You can have her back once it’s over.”
Seb’s eyes roam over the contract once again. “Ava needs to sign it for herself. I don’t own her.”
Ava’s hazy gaze is on me, her nose twitching as she struggles against us being there and her growing need for an alpha’s knot.
“Sign it. Please,” she murmurs to Seb.
“Do what she asked,” Max says.
Seb stalls. His eyes glaze over as he stares at the contract once more, before he takes the pen and scrawls his signature at the bottom. The moment the pen lifts from the paper, Max snatches it away and tosses it aside.
“Thank you kindly,” he says with a smirk. “Now get out.”
“No,” she calls out. “He stays.”
Seb strokes his hand over her ass. He’s such a smart ass, and he’s risking it being ripped off right now, but somehow I feel he’s letting us know he’s not afraid of us. “She’s in charge.”
“You really want to see how an alpha takes an omega through her heat?” Max asks. A hint of annoyance in his voice.
Seb growls. “I’ll do whatever it takes. I love her. You only want the sex.”
Max growls as he walks to the edge of the nest and asks Ava, “Can I sit here?” He points to the edge of the bed.
Her nose twitches with the movement of his hand and she nods.
“Do you remember me?” Max takes a seat. His movement is slow, methodical almost, as he reaches her dark hair, stroking it through his thumb and pointer finger.
She nods. “But why are you here?”
“Your alpha.” He slides her hair over her ear before he looks at Seb. “He can see that. Can’t you?”
Seb stays silent.
Max adds, “He knows by the way your slick is gushing from my touch. He knows he can’t do this for you.”
“Max,” I warn him. I don’t know what is going through his head at the moment, but this was never the plan.
It’s like he’s under some spell. He’s gone from wanting her pregnant to something else. He told me he was fine with Seb, but now it seems he is jealous as fuck of the beta.
Max turns to Seb, a small smile playing on his lips. “I’ve booked the room next door. Go have a sleep, and you can come back and join in when you’re capable.”
My eyes narrow as I stare at Max, wondering why he’s being so brutal to Seb when he alleges he only wants one thing from Ava.
“Are you okay with that, Ava?” Seb asks as he stumbles to his feet and goes to her other side.
He cups her face in his hands and presses a kiss on her lips.
Much to Max’s annoyance.
“Yes,” she groans and drops to the nest in a fetal position, holding her stomach. “But come back for me.”
