Pierce stood there, probably in shock, as I kissed him. For a brief moment, it was just my lips against his, the heat of the October evening wrapping around us, the adrenaline of our encounter with the drunk still coursing through my veins. But then he was present again, and he kissed me back with a force that could rival his earlier anger.

Arms banded around my waist, pulling me closer as our kiss turned frantic. I moaned quietly into his mouth as one hand slipped down to cup my butt over my skirt.

All I could feel was his body pressed against mine, his lips capturing mine, his heart beckoning mine.

“Hey, uh, guys?”

I jumped from Pierce’s embrace, wiping an arm across my mouth to clear any evidence of what we’d just been caught doing. As if it were illegal for two fully grown adults to just be making out on the sidewalk. I shook off the embarrassment, sure that the clerk from the sex shop wasn’t scandalized by our display.

“Yeah?” I panted, out of breath as my heart fought to return to normal speed.

“People usually wait ’til they get home before they start testing out their purchases.” The clerk’s eyebrows raised, looking pointedly at the bag still on the ground, before returning inside.

“Of course,” I rushed out, bending to collect our items, some of which had rolled around on the sidewalk from Pierce’s hurried toss.

Pierce grabbed an errant bottle of lube that had made it several feet away, returning with the cutest blush on the ridge of his nose.

“Want to go find out what ‘for his and her pleasure’ means?” I winked dramatically.

Pierce raced me back to the car.

Note to self: Watching her light me on fire is my favorite

drug. An addiction I will never forsake.

The drive home was a blur. Street lamps lit the way through the dark roads as I drove way too fast to get back to my condo. The shared space between us charged to sizzling heights as I reached across his body to click open my garage door.

Pierce turned his head slowly, watching me as I retreated to my side of the car.

“How about we find out how to use those extra goodies you bought when you thought I wasn’t paying attention?”

Blood rushed to my cheeks, warming my face. Even in the dim cabin light of my car, I was sure he could see the flush to my skin.

“What?” I propped open my mouth in mock surprise. “But I’m so sneaky! How did you know?”

Pierce smirked, leaning an arm on the center console as he closed the distance between us.

“You must think you’re so clever, don’t you, darling?”

My heart raced, my pulse thumped inside my ribcage. I nodded slowly, never breaking eye contact.

“What are you gonna do about it, Romeo?”

A devilish gleam to his eyes whispered promises in its silent threat.

“Let’s find out,” he said slyly.

Pierce exited the car and then rounded the hood, opening my door for me. I quickly climbed out, before opening the back seat to grab the bag of toys and the rest of our haul from the day.

Leaning over, I arched my back, hoping to tease the demigod behind me.

“Eek!” I squealed, as a warm burn spread over my left cheek. I stood up, only to find Pierce had moved to directly behind me.

“Shouldn’t offer a thirsty man water, darling.” He winked, reaching around me to take the bags I held, before shutting the car door and swiping the car keys from my hand. He calmly swaggered over to the garage door and unlocked the door that led to my kitchen.

I followed close behind, shutting the garage with a tap of the button before locking the door behind me. Pierce quickly dropped all the bags except one on my kitchen counter, then made to move towards my room.

I prowled after my target, each step purposeful as we walked through my kitchen and into the living room, where Pierce stopped abruptly.
