Page 75 of Four Times Forever

Needing a distraction from that realization, and a moment to myself, I went into the empty room of the Airbnb that hadn't been used. I didn't know why Ryan didn't just sleep there. Though, his suggestion last night that he should be at another hotel gave me a clue why. I brought out my laptop and opened the video calling app.

The last time it was used was when I was checking in on my mother, from the nurse, who said she was giving her hell. That was so long ago, I itched to call her now to find out how she was doing. But I really didn't want to hear her in the background shouting at me for being an idiot to trust my men.

Recovering the photos and videos in the drive instead, I set about editing my very first vlog. Excitement coursed through me as I thought about surprising Matt and Eric. I went back on to their channels to check out their editing styles to add an extra touch and found videos of Eric with his ex and the comments praising them as the one true pairing. Hm. I didn't care how badly edited my video was, I was definitely posting it now.

Fire in my veins, I didn't hear when Ethan entered and I jumped when his lips touched my neck.

"Ooh, what are you working on so diligently?" He peered in and I snapped the laptop shut.

"It's a surprise." I grinned, deciding that I could use a break. Well, the grumbling in my stomach decided that for me. There wasn't much baguette left and I was looking forward to the pastry I spoiled, so I didn't have anything to eat.

"Well, okay, damn." He laughed.

"Can we go get breakfast? I didn't eat." I flushed.

His mouth fell open. "What?! Why did you give us..."

I kissed him to shut him up before he could give me a lecture on why I should have put myself first.

Knowing why I kissed him, his eyes squinted in playfulness before he said, "Well, how do you feel about breakfast at the Eiffel Tower before booking into the most romantic hotel near to it?"

My eyes lit up. "Why?"

"I just think it's time we take Paris by storm." He kissed me.

"Well, to that, I say yes!" I looped my arms around his neck.

Matt

"You know, you don't have to hover over her anytime she's near me?" Ryan took a bite of his buttered baguette. He brought his eyes up to mine. "But I get it. I respect it." He took a sip of his coffee. "So, you gonna join me for breakfast?"

"What happened between the two of you last night?" With the way his eyes followed her out of the room, I dropped my brows and narrowed my eyes.

"Nothing. We just talked." He took a sip of his coffee.

"You didn't say anything that would upset her, did you?" I asked.

"Why?" Ryan put the cup back down to turn to me, brows lifted. "Did she seem upset when she came back to the room last night?"

"No." I cleared my throat. "She was horny as hell, and generous too. Even...called your name a couple of times. Did you?"

He smiled and swallowed, turning his head back to another buttered slice of baguette. I slipped in beside him to take him up on his offer and swiped the ones with jam, because I was sure Ethan and Eric had already inhaled the rest.

"No. Well, not really. We didn't." He cleared his throat and licked his fingers, his tongue reminding me of what it was doing to my ass yesterday.

"Good." I looked away. "What did you guys talk about?"

"Me and you. Me and her. Me and my drinking." He tilted his head.

Now that he'd mentioned it. "You don't stink of alcohol," I gasped.

Ryan grinned. "She reacted the same. I wish I could say it felt great, but well." He shrugged. "I went for a walk and stuff. I think I might start doing that again, even if walking past the bars and restaurants was nerve-wracking. Still, I'm doing this for Lily. For me and her."

"And what about your photography?" I asked.

"Yeah. It could be a good distraction." He nodded.

"And you can join me on my hikes again, meaning you bring your camera and lag behind," I teased.
