I wish you could be here now rubbing out some of these aches and pains. I’ll see you in the afternoon - S x

I debated back and forth on sending a kiss after my initial to Walker, but it felt right in my gut to do so. I just hoped it didn’t freak him out in the process.

I pushed through the day at warp speed knowing that the sooner I finished my tasks for the morning, the sooner that I could tell Jace and Michelle that I was out of the office for the rest of the day. I wanted to surprise Walker and just turn up and see what he thought of what I’ve managed to do so far. Hopefully he wasn’t too freaked out by the mess and destruction that I had started to reign down on the place because when it was complete, a masterpiece would stand in its place.

I placed my finger against my lips as I gently pushed the door of The Hot Shot open and sneaked inside, catching Dee’s gaze as she tried to grab my attention. I was having none of it though as the only person I had eyes on getting near and giving a welcome to was my man standing in the corner of the room. I headed across the room with purpose and ignored the slight cough from Dee’s mouth as I spun Walker to face me and caged him in against the wall.

“Damn I missed you and Dee can watch for all I care,” I admitted before I slammed my lips against Walker’s, covering the sounds that he was desperately trying to expel as I pushed him back against the wall and ground my hips against his rock solid cock.

“Oh, now isn’t this interesting?” a voice interrupted, making the pair of us pull apart. Walker pulled me behind him, protecting me from the person who’d spoken. I only needed to flick my gaze between the female stood behind the bar and the guy coming out of the doorway as he wrapped his arm around her waist and kissed her head to know that I was in deep shit. “Sebastian… Well, isn’t this very cozy? How is your brother doing nowadays?”

“Leave his brother out of this!” Walker snapped as he screwed his fists up tight and headed straight toward the pair, not caring about the plastic sheets and mass of tools and equipment that stood in his wake. “Dee…”

“I tried to warn Sebastian they were here,” she choked out. “I didn’t…”

“You didn’t know that was going to happen,” I calmly answered back. “These two are like snakes and I’m sure they are armed already with a plan up their sleeves.”

“Oh Sebastian,” Sarah sniped. “It’s just a bit of mutual business to smooth things over for all of us. You know where to find Will and I tonight, don’t you?”

“Blackmail, more like!” Walker snarled as he took a step closer.

I stopped him by pulling him into my chest. “Not now, okay?” I placated him, rubbing small circles on his chest. “Let me deal with this. There’s only one thing that these two will talk about.”

“You know he’s right,” Dee interrupted, dropping her head at the despicable behavior, thinking how the hell she could be related to someone like this. “They don’t care about people’s thoughts and feelings. Just their back pockets.”

“Smile,” Will gleamed as I gritted my teeth, ready to launch at them. “One for the picture album and the media.”

“Get out of here now before I throw you out!” Walker screamed, his anger at bursting point as he pulled me closer, desperate to comfort me. It was like he was scared the moment that when they left, that I’d be on my way out of the door alongside them. That I’d be running scared about the fact that my secret would be out in the open. The thing was I knew that Sarah Lovedelio and Will Dallington would rather make me sweat than give up the power of a secret that big. They wanted something from me and once I knew what that was, only then would I deal with the potential consequences.

“Walker, Sebastian…” Dee said, tears falling down her face the moment Sarah and Will had left the bar. “I really am sorry. I can’t believe they would do this.”

“I can,” Walker admitted. “But it’s not your fault. We’ll fix this.” He grabbed her hand before looking into my eyes, hoping to spot the confirmation staring back at him. “Please say we’ll fix this.”

“I’ll go to The Rainbow Room and talk to them. I’ll make everything right. Okay? You don’t need to panic as I’m not going anywhere.” I squeezed Walker’s hand before giving him a kiss on the lips. “Make sure you sort this place out, okay? I’ll be back later.”

“Sebastian…” Walker looked at me teary-eyed. “I will come back. Trust me.”

“I’ve got him,” Dee replied as I smiled at her.

“Thanks. Look after him for me,” I said.

I just hoped that I would be returning with good news because the last thing I could deal with was causing a broken heart.

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

WALKER

If Sebastian thought I was just going to wait here with Dee until he returned, then he had another thing coming. He wasn’t about to fight this battle alone with that bitch and her partner. I’d known the problems Dee had faced all her adult life—battling and feigning off the pair of them—and now they had decided to pull me and my life with Sebastian into the mix. I wasn’t someone who would just stand back and allow them to take control of what ultimately wasn’t anything to do with them. If they wanted a fight, I’d give them one. I just knew that I had to be sneaky in the process.

I’d been to The Rainbow Room before. It held memories of pure joy that were ingrained into my mind—thanks to meeting Sebastian there—but it also reminded me how difficult it was to get inside the damn place. I bet some high security facilities would be simpler with the amount of security that was stationed around the place. That wouldn’t deter me though as the grounds were free reign for anyone to visit, so all I needed was to find out where they would all be meeting and potentially a window would be wide enough for me to sneak inside and join in the party. Oops, I meant conversation.

“Where are you going?” Dee asked, when she noticed me grabbing my coat and throwing it on. I’d hoped that when she’d finally told me she was going to the ladies’ room, I’d have enough time to sneak out without her realizing I was gone. I’d deliberately left my phone in her bag so if she’d tried to contact me or trace my phone, she couldn’t. She was devious that way when she wanted to be. “I’m not asking again, or I’ll just grab my coat, too.”

“Fine. I’m going to find out what’s happening. It’s not up to Sebastian to deal with this. What if…” I choked up. “What if they make him realize I’m not worth fighting for?”

“Then he’s not the man for you,” Dee said bluntly. “Sorry but it had to be said. If Sebastian agreed to anything that jeopardizes your relationship, then he’s not worth it but just so you know, I’ve seen the way he looks at you. He’s smitten. I don’t think you have anything to worry about.”
