“Here, sit up” he said as I closed my eyes again.
“Fuck off.” I whined.
He laughed a low husky laugh. “Well, I have Aspirin and coffee.”
That made me sit straight up…with one hand firmly grasping the blanket. My confidence clearly wasn’t as high without my liquid courage.
I took the small white pills from his hand and the large cup of coffee. I slowly sipped it while I tried to choose my words.
I settled on, “I’m sorry.”
“What on Earth are you sorry for?” Confusion outlined his perfect features.
“Well, I made a fool out of myself last night. I mean I am sure you are used to girls throwing themselves at you, but I practically begged.”
He lowered his coffee from his lips and started into my eyes. “Listen to me. You didn’t beg. You offered. I accepted. If I wasn’t interested, I would have said no. And you never have to apologize for offering sex. Ever.” He shot me a wink and a devilish smile.
I didn’t argue with him, but it didn’t change how slutty I felt.
“So, did a good night’s sleep help you make any type of decisions?”
Shit.
I hadn’t even remembered my housing problem until that very moment.
I simply shook my head still not knowing what to say.
“I want to revisit my offer to have you stay here.”
My eyes widened because I didn’t even think he was serious last night. I thought it was just something he had drunkenly put on the table.
I held up my hand before he could continue. “Before we keep going with this conversation, can I please put some clothes on?”
He smiled those pearly whites again. “If you must. I’ll leave you alone for a few minutes and pour us some more coffee. Bathroom is next door if you need it.” He gestured to the left and walked out of the room.
I got up and found that he had taken my clothes and folded them on the back of one of the chairs.
Awesome. Tyler Wendell has touched my underwear…on AND off my body.
Quickly, I threw on my clothes from the night before and headed for the bathroom. Glancing in the mirror, I realized I looked as bad as I felt.
My hair was still down and a total rat’s nest, but I was thankful that I didn’t ever wear too much makeup, so I didn’t have raccoon eyes.
My hands worked quickly splashing some cold water on my face and throwing my hair up into my typical messy bun. I had slept in my contacts, so my eyes were killing me, but with my glasses still at home, I would just have to deal with it.
I knew what Tyler was going to suggest. I wasn’t a girl who ever liked to ask for help, but what other choice did I have? Would it really be so bad to live in this nice house instead of my car?
But could I live in this house with such a gorgeous man and really keep my hands to myself? I would have to. Us fucking again would just make things complicated.
Maybe we could make this work. Maybe I could stay here at least until something else opened up.
Maybe.
But it would have to be on my terms.
When I emerged from the bathroom and walked back into the study, Tyler was already back and sitting with our two cups of steaming coffee in front of him. He had moved over to the couch presumably so that we could sit next to each other.
I took a seat next to him, and he gave me a warm smile. I am usually the epitome of awkward, but for some reason, Tyler made me a little bit more at ease.
