“She does have a point, Hades,” Zane agrees.

Grinning over my shoulder, I say, “You did say you loved me, right, Hades?”

He stiffens briefly before answering, “That I did, my Persephone.”

I wink at him before turning back around. I keep walking. “Then the women around here need to realize that you are mine.”

Howe bumps my shoulder. “He said he loved you?”

I hum. “He did.”

“Did you say it back?” Alec asks beside me.

I nod. “I did.”

Howe tugs on my hand, so I turn to look at him. His brows are pinched, and I can’t tell what he’s thinking, but after a moment, he says, “I love you, Persephone.”

I tug him toward me until his face is in front of mine, then I kiss the tip of his nose. “I love you too.”

His eyes widen, and then a huge smile spreads across his face. He kisses the tip of my nose before straightening. With a grin, he says, “You’re stuck with this dog now, Seph.”

I laugh. “I wouldn’t want it any other way, Cerby.”

Alec tugs on my hand, so I turn to look at him. His cheeks are slightly pink as he says softly, “I love you.”

“Love you too,” I say back before tugging him down to kiss his cheek.

He smirks as we continue walking down the street. I can’t help but look over my shoulder and see Zane watching us. His eyes meet mine as I mouth, “I love you.”

I see the tilt of his lips as he mouths back, “I love you too.”

Giving him a beaming smile, I continue down the sidewalk as my boys drag me to more stores. I know that this kind of happiness won’t last long; it never does, so I’m going to soak up every moment before the other shoe drops and life shits on me again.

Chapter Eleven

Jane

“So when do I get my Persephone tattoos?” I ask, mainly out of curiosity. We are all hanging out in my bedroom at the compound until we leave for the house later. The guys wanted to drop off some of the clothes here first.

Jace looks up from his paperwork. He’s currently sitting on the floor, leaning up against the side of the bed. “What do you mean?” he asks.

I point toward his face and say, “You all have face tattoos to go with your names. When do I get mine?”

He raises a brow in surprise. “You want a face tattoo?”

I shrug. “Why not. You all look pretty badass. And you have to admit that with the pink UV contacts I got, having a face tattoo would look awesome.”

He smirks and turns back to his paperwork. “Face tattoos hurt. How about we stick to UV face paint for now, Princess?”

I huff out a sigh. “Fine. What about my other tattoos?”

“What other tattoos?” Zane asks from his spot on the floor. He’s currently lying down with a hand over his face.

“You know. My Persephone-inspired tattoos.”

Zane lifts his arm from his face to squint up at me. “What are you talking about?”

I point toward his hands. “You have skeletal tattoos on your hands. I have a hard time believing that you don’t have any Thanatos-inspired tattoos on you.”
