Liberty
Oh,how I wanted to finish what we’d started. The imprint of Jake’s humongous cock was more than enough to convince me that this was the right decision, at least just for the rest of tonight.
“We can’t do anything more here.” He adjusted his dick, and I grinned.
The man was on fire. He was making me go up in flames.
“Too bad. There is so much more I want from you.”
“Would it be weird to have sex when you paid five hundred fifty dollars to hang out with me?” he asked.
“About that. I didn’t actually pay. I don’t know if anyone did.”
He cocked an eyebrow at me like he didn’t understand what I was trying to say.
“I ran into that tent trying to escape Lewis, and I found the bidder number on the ground. I just swooped it up like I owned it and started bidding.”
“Now the truth comes out.” He crossed his arms over his chest.
“It wasn’t my number. I couldn’t tell you one way or the other if anyone actually paid for the bid.” I cringed. “I’m feeling bad now, though, thinking I just cost someone so much money.” I stepped away from his truck.
“What are you doing?”
“Don’t you think I should find the owner of the number and offer them their money back?”
“No. I don’t. Who the hell knows what kind of person I might have to please if they figure out they won the bid? They’ll be entitled to their night. Tonight.” He blew out a breath. “My grandma is going to have my ass when she hears that I spent the night with the wrong bidder.”
“Let’s just go explain to her the mistake.”
Jake shook his head. “No. Let’s go watch the fireworks. They’ll be starting any time.”
“I already have a spot saved. It’s on the far side of the lake by that big oak tree that got struck by lightning last year.”
Jake shut the door to his truck then reopened it, rummaged around, and pulled out a slew of condoms. “Never know where this might go down tonight.”
My clit was still rock hard from the attention he’d given me minutes ago. Was this crazy that I’d barely met the man? Yes. But why did I already feel like we had such a strong connection? That maybe this could go somewhere beyond tonight. It was ridiculous. I didn’t know if he had a serious ex or been married before, but as we walked back toward the lit-up carnival and across the park, I knew it didn’t matter.
“What’s the best part about the Fourth of July for you?” he asked.
“The feeling it gives me. Sense of pride. Gratitude. I’m so grateful for all the military people. I’m proud. Does that make sense?”
He squeezed my hand. “That’s exactly how I would have answered.”
“I wear my name proudly on this day every year. Like, I’m Liberty Belle.” I giggled. “Silly, right?”
“Not at all. I would too.”
I pointed at my blanket, which I had laid on the ground this morning in order to secure my favorite spot. “Here.”
“Wow, my girl coming through with the perfect spot to watch fireworks.”
His girl?It had a nice ring to it. I slid off my shoes and sat on the blanket. From this position, Jake’s clothes clung to his thighs and I appreciated the muscular curve of his butt. When he caught me staring, he gave me a smile that warmed my heart.
Jake kicked off his shoes and got down beside me. “Come here.”
He opened his arms, and I crawled right across his lap into them so my back was against his chest. He was so calm and sure. His breathing was a perfect cadence against my back. Meanwhile, my heart was about to head into speed-of-light territory.
“What do you do when you’re not helping your grandma?”
