“So, which one are you going to go for?” Willa asked.
I looked at her, finding her question rather offensive. “Which one?”
She furrowed her brows before realization hit. “Oh! Oh, God…Lola, you can’t—” She laughed and waved her hand. “Actually, you can. And I know you will. I just need updates whenever you get a step closer to them, okay?”
I chuckled. “I will definitely keep you updated. Actually, the first update comes right now.” I wiped my thumb across the screen and tapped on a few things before landing on the show dates. “We’re going to watch a show.”
“For real?” Willa was always up for things like that. We liked to go to concerts and parties, and whenever there was something new in town, we liked to attend just to see if we’d like it or not.
“Yes. Oh, look, they have a show next Friday at nine.”
“Where is it?”
“At The Hot Spot. It says it’s a bar downtown. I’ve never heard of it.”
“Me neither. We should still go.”
I nodded and clicked on the link that took me to the ticket shop. There were still tickets available, but before I bought two, I read the information below. It said that the shows the Four of Hearts put on were only for women, and that you had to be twenty-one or older to attend.
Luckily, Willa and I were twenty-four already, and we were more than ready to see those men dance.
“Twenty bucks for a strip show…that’s not expensive at all,” Willa said, impressed by the low pricing.
“We’ll definitely get more for that price.”
I was sure of that.
Once the tickets were in my possession, I couldn’t stop thinking about anything else for the rest of the night.
Chapter 5
LEO
It’s been five days since we’ve encountered her in the elevator, and ever since, I hadn’t been able to stop thinking about her.
Lola.
Fuck.
Even her name was sexy.
Every time I closed my eyes at night, I saw her looking at me with those green eyes. Everything about her was fascinating, but those eyes…man, I just couldn’t get them out of my mind.
Her sweet scent had lingered for a while that night, and every time I stepped into that elevator, I hoped to see her again.
We all did. In fact, I wasn’t the only one hoping to encounter her again.
The guys and I lived in a two-story apartment together. We turned two lofts into one, and while we shared a big kitchen and living area upstairs, we all had our own little wing with a bedroom and bathroom downstairs.
When I first joined the crew, we all lived alone, but after a while of dancing together, we decided to move in together. We weren’t romantically involved or anything, but since we worked together and created a kind of brotherhood, we thought being close to each other was the best option.
None of us had girlfriends or wives, but we occasionally had women over. We didn’t really date. We were all bachelors, and we enjoyed this lifestyle.
Before taking any women home, we made sure to let them know just what our deal was. We talked to them openly, letting them know that we weren’t into dating, and that if they planned on seeing us again, they’d better not come home with us.
Being clear about that helped, although few women were reoccurring guests at our shows, hoping to be taken home again and again.
I promised myself that once I found the right woman, I wouldn’t sleep with others anymore. For now, no woman had me fall head-over-heels yet.
