Lola was the first to appear upstairs, and she smiled as she saw me. “Hey, you. Why aren’t you in bed?”
“I’ve been sleeping too much today. Just wanted to hang out with you guys for a while.”
She walked over to me, rubbing my shoulder and kissing the top of my head before she headed over to the kitchen. “Want another tea?”
“No, thank you, kitten. How was the show? Did it work out without me or was it boring?”
Lola’s laugh lit up everything inside of me. God, I could listen to her laugh for hours. “They put on a good show, but I missed seeing you up there.”
“I’ll be back on my feet in no time.”
“That’s good.”
I watched as she poured herself a glass of water. “Are you staying over tonight?”
She shrugged, looking at me through her lashes as she took a few sips. When she put the glass down, she said, “Maybe. Depends on how the rest of the evening goes.”
I could feel tension in the air, and the look on her face when the guys came upstairs said enough.
Things would get heated tonight.
Chapter 24
LOLA
The guys had taken a shower and come upstairs wearing just a pair of sweatpants and a shirt, and while Kline and Watson came to sit next to me, Leo went to the kitchen to prepare a late night snack.
In the meantime, I talked to Bennett, making sure he was okay. He seemed way more energetic this evening, but that could’ve just been because of all the sleeping he had done today.
“By the way…did you tell anyone I was sick?” he asked, looking from me to Kline.
“Only the crew. Why?”
“Because I got an email wishing me a speedy recovery,” Ben told us, looking confused. “It was from a strange email address.”
I furrowed my brows. “Was it signed?”
“No, and the email didn’t have a name in it either. Just a bunch of random letters and numbers.”
“That’s weird,” Watson said as he leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees. “Can I see it?”
“Yeah, my phone’s on the kitchen counter.”
Watson got up, and while we waited for him to check the email, Kline pulled me closer to him, wrapping both his arms around my body. He buried his face into the crook of my neck, kissing my skin gently. “Will you stay over tonight?” he asked, his voice a deep growl.
It sent shivers down my spine.
I wanted to stay, but I had known from the second they stepped off stage to come to me that I would spend the rest of the night with them.
They wanted me here, and I didn’t want to be any place else.
I turned my head to kiss his cheek. “If you guys want me to.”
He smirked and cupped my jaw with his strong hand, holding my head in place. “Fuck yes, we want you to.” He took my mouth and kissed me deeply, pushing his tongue between my lips, and curling it around mine.
A moan escaped me, and I leaned more into him, gripping his shirt tightly with my fist. He broke the kiss soon after, but the effect he left on me was immense.
My legs were trembling, and my heart was beating loudly in my chest.
