One photo together at an event, and he’s hoping it’ll spread like wildfire while he directs the narrative. I hope he’s right. People are curious and sometimes unkind about our dynamic.
As we walk toward the house that’s lit up by the porch lights, I see that it’s one long home, with two stories and a wrap-around enclosed porch.
“This home used to be three separate homes, with different families living in it,” Trish explains. “It can be remodeled to be one fluid home, or left as is.”
“There are ten bedrooms total in the house,” Jack continues. “The basement is completely finished, and it’ll give us room for a home gym, family movie room, and more.”
The “and more” invites Bee to hit the button of the toy again. She has it hidden in her hand, and I swear to God, I almost come as I walk up the stairs. I’m going to kill her.
Jack has talked about adding a “sex room” to our house for us to play in once we have kids. It’ll remain locked when we’re not using it.
The wood of the porch is beautifully sealed and gleams. “Is this new?” I ask, tapping on the floor with my heel.
Trish beams at me, seeing that I noticed. “It’s about five years old, but the previous owners took pride in this porch. It’s resealed regularly, and beautiful, isn’t it?”
Nodding, I walk into the house, following her for the tour. It appears that these were once apartments, so there will be a fair amount of remodeling to do. The house looks out onto the water, which will be a gorgeous view to see every day.
There are some updates that’ll need to be done to the property as well, but I love the red fence that separates the water from the backyard and docks.
“We can get a boat, go on adventures on our weekends off, and update the attic to make it a music room for you,” Jack murmurs, his arms around Bee and I as we gaze out at the water. The sun set a while ago, and the sounds of nature surround us.
“There’s room for a hot tub out here too,” Bee says, snuggling into Jack’s body. “I really love it. Is there a space for a safe room?”
“There is in the basement,” he says. “The weather can get rough here, but the roof is new, and I’ll be able to update it for any of our needs. It may be a little big for us now, but when the kids get older, they can expand here with us.”
Family.
I’ve always been disconnected from the idea of it, since I wasn’t close to my mom or Aunt Amelia. Wishes don’t change my relationships, so I release the construct in the reality of having a real family with Jack and Bee.
“I love this house,” I admit. “I want to see it in the daylight, but I want it.”
“Same,” Bee says, nodding. “This way, we have time to renovate everything.”
“Then I’m in,” Jack says, turning back to where Trish is waiting for us inside. “Let’s go tell her what we decided.”
Okay then. Let’s fucking go.
Riding high from being edged and the promise of a new home, my body is floaty and uncomfortable.
“Color, Dolly,” Jack growls, helping me out of the truck.
“Yellow,” I admit. “She knows how to keep me on a razor’s edge. I really want to come.”
Bee looks worried as she wraps her arms around my waist, pouting. “I want to make you come on my tongue,” she says. “Can you handle a little more?”
“Yes,” I say with a nod. “With an invitation like that, I can’t exactly say no.”
“You can always say no,” Jack admonishes, making sure the truck is locked up. In front of us is a club with dark walls, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone here, even though the parking lot is full.
“We all have different times we can get to the club, so no one sees the other.”
Pulling out masks, he presses them into our hands. “Put these on, ladies. We’ll sign a few forms when we go in, and then we can have some fun,” he says.
“Jack, is this a sex club?” I hiss, eyes wide as I put on the mask over my eyes. I didn’t go heavy on the eyeshadow tonight, and also skipped the contacts. Bee told me she’s missed seeing my eye color.
Since I’ve been establishing my career with my new name, and Bee has as well, we’re keeping our names.
I don’t have to keep the fake gray eye color, though. Jack and his team can easily fix that.
