My meeting wasn’t as bad as I expected. Their critiques were helpful, and it shouldn’t take me long to fix all the issues they found. I step out of the Midtown building with a smile, slipping on my sunglasses to block the bright sun with no clouds to hide behind on this warm August day. It's almost September. Almost fall, which is my favorite season. I love walking through Central Park at the end of October to see the foliage.

With my new bodyguard, Jeremy, by my side, we head toward the car parked up the street ahead of other black cars waiting in a line to pick up people more important than me. Jeremy is a bulky white man who’s at least six foot three with a bald head and stone-cold face. He works for Bruno’s security detail company and Bruno personally selected him for me.

I feel safe with this man and I'm thankful my publisher reached out to Bruno’s company to hire him.

We pass by a newsstand—a silver box with a man inside, selling cigarettes, magazines, lottery tickets, drinks, and snacks—and against my better judgement, I peek at the gossip rags.

I stop in my tracks.

A picture of Jensen beside a gorgeous blonde woman graces the cover of at least two magazines. My heart drops reading the headlines.

Flirty Reunion

Boliver Moving On?

Jensen is leaning down as if he’s about to kiss this woman and she’s smiling up at him, her hand resting on his upper arm.

What the fuck?

I snatch the two magazines and hold them up.

“How much?”

I pay the man ten dollars and tuck the magazine under my arm, following Jeremy to the car.

Inside, I take a deep breath. I’m letting myself get all worked up even though the media always over-exaggerates the true story.

Once we’re moving through traffic, heading back to my apartment, I take out the magazines.

Boliver Moving On?

Written by Angela Borrows, Entertainment Now

After a whirlwind romance with Rebecca Taylor in Hawaii, Jensen Boliver seems to be moving on. The film director was reunited with Tiffany Spars on the red carpet of the joint Gala for the Beyond the Bright Lights and Tyler’s Team foundations. The two co-starred on Metal & Mayhem for 3 seasons before the show was canceled 10 years ago. 30-year-old Spars went on to star in hit movies like Carry Me Home and Falling From Nowhere. 30-year-old Boliver transitioned to work behind the camera, winning an Oscar for Tyler’s Team.

Sources tell Entertainment Now that this is the first time the two had seen each other since leaving the show. They were spotted smiling and flirting...

I stop reading. I don’t even pick up the other magazine. How could he do this? How could he move on so quickly? I've been miserable, and he’s been out partying?

This happened two nights ago. How have I not seen anything about this already? I mean, sure, I’ve been holed up in my apartment, refusing to go online, telling my publicist to say ‘no comment’ to whatever request comes through as long as it’s trivial and wouldn’t threaten my reputation or career, but certainly Lana would have called or texted me.

You know what? I’m going to call her. I fish my phone out of my purse. She answers after the first ring.

“Did you know?”

“So, you saw.”

“Did you know?” I ask an octave higher.

“It’s not what it seems.” She sighs through the phone. “Did you read the article?”

“I... I started to.”

“Keep reading and call me back.”

She hangs up on me, and I want to throw the phone at something. I pick the magazine back up and finish reading the damn article.

… but looks might just be deceiving, because minutes after the alleged flirty reunion, security escorted Spars out of the charity event. Photos show Boliver and Lana Young watching from the venue’s entrance. Boliver released a statement the next day claiming Spars bullied him on the set of Metal & Mayhem. We asked if he was the reason she was kicked out of the event but have not yet heard from Boliver or any of the event organizer's team.
