I could feel her nodding as her head moved up and down in my neck. “Can I sleep here tonight?” she whispered.

Sitting up, I pulled the blanket from the bottom of the bed. “Sure,” I said as I lay down beside her and pulled the blanket over us. Alyssa turned to her side. I held her tightly as we slept.

Chapter 17 - Alyssa

I felt like a sparkplug even before my morning coffee. I had been training with Piotr and Mila for the last week, and today was my time to shine. This would be my first infiltration mission, and I was overly excited.

Even though my nerves were shot, I couldn’t contain the rush I felt. Breakfast went by in a daze, and so did lunch. After we washed up, we headed out. Mila assisted me in picking out the perfect clothes as I rode with her.

Piotr, Konstantin, and Leon went ahead to cover all the sides and assess the situation. We arrived at the entrance road to the warehouse. Piotr met us there. “Right,” he said as Mila stopped. “They are about to do a guard change. Give it ten minutes, and then you go in. You both know what needs to be done?”

Mila glanced back at me, and we nodded. “By the way, you look nice,” Piotr added as he got onto his bike and headed back to his spot between the trees. “Can you hear me clearly,” his voice came through the earpiece.

I gave him a thumbs up and held on as Mila took off towards the building. She was driving like a bat out of hell. We rolled up a dust storm as we approached. This was all part of our cover. We were about fifty yards from the main building when Mila closed the throttle and allowed the bike to die.

I vaguely recognized the building and felt sure it was one of Jones’s warehouses. I could be wrong, but then, on the other hand, I wouldn’t put smuggling drugs past him either. Maybe he smuggled them in the organs, I wondered.

We got off and stamped around a little. We did this so the guards would think the bike died on us, and we were upset about it. Pulling off our helmets, we shook our heads, waving our hair in the wind. We practiced this quite a bit. Mila said there was a special way to shake your head to make yourself more desirable to the onlookers.

Once we had done that, we turned and walked to the main door. The guards looked like they were frozen in time. “We achieved the desired effect,” Mila whispered as we neared them.

There were three at the door. To our left and right were four more, but more towards the ends of the building. The three men at the door stood gawking with their mouths open. They almost seemed comical as they stood seemingly on attention.

My heart felt like it was stuck in my throat as we stepped up to them. For a moment, my mind went blank. I wasn’t sure what to do. Mila must have realized I was stunned as she immediately took over.

“Hey guys,” she said in a deep sensual tone.

The men looked her up and down, licking their lips before the one in the middle responded. “Hi there, how can we be of assistance, sexy lady?”

Mila nodded her head sideways, indicating that I should proceed. As she continued to speak to them, I slipped past and headed down a passage to the left. I had only been here once many years back. But I was sure the office was up some steps on this side.

Moving slowly and as quietly as possible, I found the stairs. “How’s it going in there?” Piotr’s voice blared into my ear, startling me. I almost pushed over a tower of barrels I was hiding behind.

“I found the stairs and am going up now. Please talk softer; you almost made me push over a tower of barrels. Do you want me to get caught?” I whispered back. Heading up, I tested each step before standing on it. I didn’t want to take a chance that it would crunch under me.

Reaching the top, I glanced around at the warehouse. The open floor seemed abandoned for a moment. There were long tables on one side with stacks of boxes next to them. On the other side were some barrels, two huge machines, and more tables.

I didn’t know what the machines were or what they did. I held up my phone and took some pictures. Focusing my attention on my mission, I turned and looked to both sides of the long passage. There was one door to my right and three on the left.

Moving towards the single door, I felt sure it had to be the office. The door squeaked a tiny bit as I pushed it open. Standing, I listened for any movement or footsteps. There was nothing but silence, so I entered.

Closing the door softly, I turn and scan the room. “Are you in yet?” Piotr asked, making me jump again.

“Shhh,” I replied softly. “And yes, I’m in.”

I could hear the laughter in his voice as she spoke again. “Are you scared by any chance?”

“Me scared, nah, not at all. You are the scaredy-cat here. As you are waiting in the car.” I whispered back.

“Princess, I have been doing this much longer than you have. This is a walk in the park. You are still a little newbie in the business.” His reply came through the earpiece.

Glancing around, I shook off the hint of irritation pushing up in me. “Yeah, yeah, just be quiet so I can focus. Or you’ll be the cause of failure.” I replied.

“Okay, princess, just joking,” he whispered.

Finally, after finding the proof we needed, I took more pictures and replaced everything. Sneaking out was much easier than in, even though the warehouse was now bustling.

Mila was still talking to the guards outside. But now she had all of them standing with her by the motorbike. One of them was down on his knees. It appeared he was checking the cables that ran to the engine.
