Wiping her face, she put a smile on her face, unlocked the door, and slid it open. "Please don't tell me I screwed up."

"Not you." Dania laughed. "I did."

"What happened?"

"I gave you the spare keys and left my keys for the shop in the cash register. I'm so used to taking the deposit to the bank at the end of the day when I let you close the shop. I didn't grab my keyring." Dania shook her head. "I thought it was smarter to get the keys from you than to wait until Monday and have to wake you up when I come in early."

Understanding the dilemma, she smiled. "Let me get them for you."

Grabbing the keys off the counter, she brought them to Dania.

"Feel that air." Dania put her hand out. "You have it nice and cool in there."

"Now I do. When I got off from work, it was like a greenhouse." She pressed her hand to her stomach. "That's what took me so long to answer your knock. I'd stripped down and gotten comfortable to beat the heat."

"I don't blame you." Dania stepped back. "I'm going to do the same when I get home."

She waved. "Have a good weekend."

"You, too." Dania grinned. "Have fun with Wire tonight."

"Wire?" She shook her head. "I'm not going anywhere with him."

"That's not what he said a few minutes ago." She laughed. "Does he know you're not interested?"

"Yes," she blurted.

Dania laughed. "I am so glad I'm not single."

Cora slid the door closed and scoffed. What was Wire doing, going around and telling people she planned to go out with him tonight?

Picking up another cracker, she shoved it into her mouth. She wasn't going.

Chapter Six

SHE WAS GOING.

It'd taken Wire ten minutes to convince Cora to hang out at the clubhouse. Much less time than he'd thought.

He stood outside the Sprinter van, having a cigarette while she got ready.

She looked damn good in the shorts she had on, but she'd wrinkled her nose when he told her what she wore was fine. Then, Cora slammed the door in his face.

He liked that fire in her.

As someone who spent his time working for Havlin and trying to keep his business going while doing what needed to be done to keep his MC brothers alive, he wasn't here to waste time.

He could be at the clubhouse, dick-deep in some chick who wanted to be at the party. But he was here because Cora was who he wanted.

All week long, he'd watched her. He was halfway to meeting the devil from the thoughts of what he'd like to do with Cora.

He'd witnessed the sweetness that appealed to all the tourists who stopped at Whale's Tail. But for him, he was on the receiving end of her attitude.

An attitude that spoke more than her.

He'd caught the looks. The curiosity. The attraction.

He was seasoned. She was ripe.
