Dio shook his head. "No hurry. It'll wait until tomorrow when she's at work."

Since Prez made it a point to bring up Cora, it wasn't club business he wanted to discuss. It had to do with Cora.

"I'll swing by in the morning."

"Sounds good." Cord stubbed out his cigarette. "All looks good around Seaglass Cove."

It'd been a full week since the meeting with Los Li. Despite running patrol around the clock, there had been no sign of them.

"What's your schedule like now? Are you going back to work?" Dio stepped over and leaned against the seat of his motorcycle.

"Yeah." He approached his tool rack and grabbed a cigarette, lighting the end. "Cora returned all the calls that'd come in and set up appointments starting on Tuesday."

"Damn." Dio grinned. "A woman and a secretary. Must be nice."

He lifted his chin in agreement. When Cora offered to make the calls while he worked on his schedule, he'd let her do the part of the job he hated. He'd hire her to manage the electrical business if she wasn't working at the coffee shop.

He was happy to have a list of addresses in his hand when he left the house each morning. His job would go faster if he only had to deal with electrical problems. With Cora's help, he'd get two weeks' worth of jobs done in one week, making him and his customers happy.

Cord got on his Harley. "We'll pass on the info to Prez."

"Stop by and party tonight if you get a chance." Dio started his Harley.

Wire watched them circle and ride away from the house. He dug the heel of his boot into the ground. So, Jagger had an answer for him about Jeff.

He inhaled deeply. Tomorrow would change the direction of his life. Either Cora would race out of town toward her brother or end up heartbroken.

"Wire?"

Without turning around, he shouted, "Yeah?"

"You have everything it takes to make sugar cookies." She paused. "Can I make us some?"

Could she make them some? Fuck him. He'd hit the jackpot when it came to her.

"Yeah, babe. Knock yourself out."

"Awesome. Thanks, honey."

His balls throbbed. He turned around. She'd disappeared into the house as if she hadn't fallen deeper into a relationship with him.

He chuckled. Of all the names she could've picked to call him, she chose honey.

Chapter Twenty Seven

WIRE FOUND JAGGER IN the parts shop Monday morning. He scanned the room. No one else was around.

"Where is everyone?" He grabbed one of the stools and sat.

"Bane's over at the pool. Daisy needed his help with the filter or some shit. Brett's not coming in until eleven o'clock. He's at the dentist with a toothache." Jagger moved a box full of filters. "There's a crew working security at Beachums and another out riding the streets. The rest of them are probably enjoying some time off."

"Everything quiet?"

"Yep." Jagger raised his brows and gave him a pointed look. "So far."

Hopefully, the threat of every motorcycle club in the Pacific Northwest coming after them was enough to make them double-think their plan to infiltrate the area.

"I wanted to talk to you without Cora." Jagger put his boot up on the shelf underneath the counter. "I expect that what I tell you, you'll keep to yourself."
