"I don't know that they're responsible."
She tensed. "You wouldn't tell me if you suspected they were part of Roy getting killed, would you?"
Priest refrained from answering her. He wouldn't even nod, only watched her intently.
He'd somehow obtained mugshots of the men he suspected murdered Roy. How? Why?
Her thoughts swirled, and she pressed her hand to her forehead. She was getting a headache.
"Are you okay?"
She shook her head. "Can you take me back to my motel room?
"Is that where you want to go?" He tilted her face.
She met his gaze. "Yes."
With the information he gave her, she needed time alone. She couldn't think when he was around.
He lowered his brows, studying her. After several seconds, he dipped his chin and stepped back.
She walked outside with him. When he got on his Harley, she climbed up behind him. She was going to call Officer Gardner or the detective that had questioned her at the police station in the morning and see if they had caught the person or people responsible for killing Roy.
In the meantime, she was going to try and figure out why Priest would be involved or have knowledge of dangerous men who might be involved in killing Roy. She'd only known Roy for six months, and not once had he hung around the Tarkio members when she was around.
