"Yeah."
She spent another half hour talking about everything but moving, work, Kelli, Peer. Finally, Tyr started getting cranky, and she whisked him out to her car and buckled him into the car seat with promises to Lizzy that she'd see her for five out of the fifteen days she had left.
It was nap time, and the car ride served its purpose. Tyr was asleep before they reached home.
She spotted Peer's motorcycle in the driveway. He came out of the house before she could get out of the car. Pointing to the backseat, she let him know that Tyr was fast asleep.
Once she got the diaper bag out of the car, Peer had Tyr on his shoulder. She followed him into the house, crossing her fingers that Tyr would stay asleep and she could find out what happened over at Kelli's place.
Peer didn't keep her waiting. He returned to the living room and led her over to the couch. She settled on his lap.
"How did it go?" She stroked his face.
"She's going to come over here at three o'clock."
She straightened. "That's in fifteen minutes. Tyr will be napping until five o'clock."
"Ja." His gaze intensified. "This is between us, not my son."
She pushed against his legs to get up. "I'll go to the clubhouse and give you privacy."
He tagged her wrist, pulling her back down on his lap. "Us, Coco. You, me, and Kelli. You are Tyr's mamma."
Her throat closed. She couldn't take that title from Kelli, but in her heart, she grasped on to the sentiment. "Are you sure?"
"Positive." He brought her hand up and kissed her knuckles. "I need you. Tyr needs you."
She closed her eyes at the onslaught of emotions. Then, she gazed straight in his wonderful blue eyes and nodded. "I'll stay."
