"Nei." He strode to the back of the bar and pushed out to the alley.

Out of all the background checks on Jacqueline and knowing how her family protected her from the goings-on of the club, she'd never been allowed to visit relatives in prison, or put her money in a National bank, or been a character witness in any of the crimes nailed on Brikken through the years.

As a club, Brikken kept her sheltered. Because it was her family that ran the MC, they'd leave her in the dark about their current crisis.

She might know something was happening or even be told to stay safe, but they wouldn't tell her why what was involved with the takedown of Brikken members.

How could he not have realized that earlier?

She was probably sitting at the hotel right now, believing he'd ditched her.

If he could get to her, he could make up for leaving without saying a word about Slag's non-involvement.

He could still see her. Nobody had to know.

She would never find out that Brikken believed it was Slag Motorcycle Club's fault that her relatives were arrested.
